I avoid crowds in general, but this is a very important rally! It will probably be fairly safe to attend as well. The organizers of this rally are more likely to have a pursued and received a police permit for the rally, so there should be lower likelihood of violence. A Union organized rally would be more challenging to infiltrate with violent black block anarchists.

NYC is not best place to protest , no escape

Nonsense. You can walk away and there are several subway lines and bus lines near City Hall. And there are also bike paths in most streets. The entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge is also near City Hall.

I am assuming he meant escape to the 'mainland' USA; unless you are in the Bronx, you are not on the 'mainland.'
Unfortunately this will probably be another big-dud, with lower turnout more than ever before. People don't care, don't want to be called terrorists, etc.
