My COVID story.
Let me start by saying I’m unvaxxed, and wear masks when necessary. Not while driving my car, of course, but if I go somewhere and I know a lot of people will be there, I’ll mask up. I’m not overzealous about this.
Anyway, I’ll jump to the good stuff.....COVID 19. Probably the delta version.
My son developed sickness first. Probably, last Wednesday. My wife soon followed, by Thursday night, I could tell she was getting sick, as she was developing congestion. I started getting a scratchy throat as well, Thursday night. Around 2 am, my wife, starts coughing a lot, then starts puking. This went on and off for the rest of the night.
I had to go out and get medical supplies, first thing in the morning, I arrived at the store as soon as the opened. While there I saw COVID test kits, so I bought one, thinking, flu is going around, let’s just test to be on the safe side.
When I got home, I tested her and my son, both came back positive. My son has deep congestion/coughing issues, my wife puked until Friday afternoon. My scratchy throat became more prevalent. We quarantined, the best we could. My son in his room, my wife in ours, and I took another room.
Saturday update: my wife is coughing and spitting stuff up, and hasn’t eaten since Thursday. She’s full of congestion, her chest hurts, and has trouble sleeping.
I’m getting a little worse, my chest is noticeably congested, no fevers yet, sleeping is getting a little difficult, lying on my back or side makes me cough, so the only way to comfortably sleep, is on my stomach.
Sunday update: our neighbors brought a bunch of Gatorade and left it on our front porch. My wife, was feeling a little better, so I helped her outside to get some fresh air, she ate 3 crackers. I helped her back into the room, as it was really humid outside, and harder to breathe. An hour later, she puked again, and feels miserable.
I’m thinking that I am a little behind her and my son, as far as stages of this thing. Both, he and she, has experienced puking, as of yet, I have not.
Last night my wife’s temperature was 100 degrees. Mine was 99.
I went to bed expecting to develop a higher temperature, but didn’t.
It’s Monday morning now, I can feel congestion in my lungs, but I’m not coughing profusely, as I would’ve expected to by now. My voice is still pretty much in tact, one of my friends told me, on the phone, that I sounded better than he would’ve thought.
I’m not sure how long this will last, or how severe it will get, but, I’m going to write as I go through this experience. I know COVID is very frightening, I’m a little frightened too, as I’ve heard all the doom and gloom about it.
Honestly, I fit the mold of people who don’t do well from it, I’m over 50, over weight, don’t eat well, not athletic. The only thing positive I have going for me in the stats department is I don’t smoke, or drink.
I know there is a lot of fear about this virus, and I want to try to alleviate some of those, by my story. I’m not sure what comes next, but I’ll keep you posted.
It’s strange, I’m not sure why I’m not puking all over the place. I feel achy, but I’m still able to move around and function.....a little slower than usual, but still able.
Ask questions, I’ll, answer the best that I can, about my experience.
Dumb, asinine questions will be ignored.
As of now, it seems like a bad flu.

Re: My COVID story.
You should have stopped by the Tractor Supply or other feed store and gotten some horse paste. Also try some of the many suggestions all around here like quercetin and zinc, heavy doses of vitamin D3, etc. Early treatment works best, don't wait for the hospital where they will kill you with a ventilator.

Has this changed your opinion about the vaccine and the coming mandates? I'm anti-vaxx and have been for almost 3 decades. So, I don't plan on ever getting it.
To remove threads and posts because some mod doesn't agree is small minded. Its so sad that certain people feel like they have the right to remove ones voice.

To you I say, you are small minded, close minded, and quite pathetic. You know who you are because you know what I have written is true.

Re: My COVID story.
I started getting sick yesterday so I immediately made quinine out of boiled grapefruit peels and drank about 3 cups of it throughout the day and took zinc. By the end of the day I was back to 100 percent. It clearly worked really well in my case. I never beat any cold/flu that fast.

Might be worth a try.

I hear it's also in tonic water, though you'll have to drink a ton of it cause it's not very concentrated

I’m not anti vax. But I am against forced vax. If someone wants to take it, then I’m fine with it.I have a problem when the government tries to force it on the populace, by coercing local establishments to force these things.

Yea I read about it on GLP when all of this started over a year ago and know of others that have had success with it. It really can't hurt to try

I think it's supposed to be similar to HCQ

Was used quite frequently in past generations. Usually given whenever someone had a fever

Re: My COVID story.
I survived covid. I was hospitalized in the MICU. I was able to walk out of the hospital in 4 days. I kept telling myself I would be okay that I just needed additional help.

I monitored my oxygen saturation for the entire duration of my sickness. I took vitamins, drank fluids and laid on my stomach the entire time. If I would have not been monitoring my oxygen saturation levels I may have not known the time to go get help.

Pneumonia snuck up on me about day 7 or 8 of being sick. No joke, I went from having little to no breathing problems to waking up with my lungs feeling full. I developed a high fever for a few days of 102-104 and my oxygen saturation dropped down to 90%-91% while at rest. When I got up to do anything it would drop down to 87%-88%.

I knew as soon as I got that point that I needed to seek emergency help. My point is, do everything you can to keep your head right. You can and will survive this. Monitor your oxygen, take the vitamins and keep your spirits up. Lay on your stomach during rest and try to get some sun if you can.

My own opinion is that I think people aren't realizing how quickly it can change but that if you are out ahead of it, you can do so much better.

my love goes out to you and your family! I know it can be scary but you can fight this!

The weird thing is, I haven’t had a fever yet....I don’t really count 99 degrees as a fever, since it’s Covid.
As an aside, my sister and her family have Covid, as well. Totally unrelated, as I haven’t seen my sister in a couple years. But, she called last night with a 104 temperature. I spoke to her this morning and her fever broke early this morning. She says she is feeling better. Although, I would guess, not having a fever of that magnitude would make sunrise feel better alone. I’ll check up with her later..
My wife is feeling a little better, she slept for 12 hours, and she dreamed of sex and food. So, I guess that’s a good sign. Lol.
I just gave her a slice of toast. Hopefully, she can keep it down. She is a little dehydrated, so, I’m going to make sure she drinks plenty today.
Our neighbors dropped off a bunch of Gatorade, so that is what she’s getting right now. I’m also going to make sure she drinks plenty of water as well.

Re: My COVID story.
This sounds like classic flu. Difference between a bad cold and flu? Colds hit your sinuses or upper respiratory tract. Flu adds intestinal lining to those symptoms, which is what usually kills or takes people out, as they can't recover fast enough, dehydration, etc. If you are weak or have comorbidity, the combination of all of the above puts your body down hard.

This covid mess, which originally was some type of rare lung damaging upper respiratory lining attack without fevers, etc - I haven't heard of too many after the initial wave early 2020.

I think PCR is picking up just about any cold/flu type of virus link.

I am getting over Covid as well. Never ran a fever at all, nor did my husband or daughter. Here's a list of my symptoms.-

Body aches ( severe) Lower back and legs
feeling that body was hot, but no fever
coughing ( bad)
lost sense of smell, but not taste
dizziness
inability to walk due to dizziness
word retrieval issues
fatigue
insomnia
severe diarrhea
no appetite ( lost 8 pounds in 7 days)

I took horse paste ( real stuff)
zpak
followed I mast protocol

I am on day 16 still lingering but mild symptoms.

I have MS, and am type A positive blood. without medicine I would have been in a pickle, I was given nothing when diagnosed. They knew I am considered high risk due to MS. I am 55 years old.

Thank you so much for your story. It is scary, but I think it is fueled a lot by media frenzy. I have been very concerned throughout this. Friday night, especially. Knowing my wife and son have Covid, I’m starting to have symptoms, and it’s only a matter of time until I have it. Based on everything I’ve heard, I’m trying to get one more solid nights sleep before the inevitable, and I couldn’t. I kept thinking, “This is the calm before the storm”, Sometime soon, all hell is going to break loose.
I’m really thinking what you went through. May happen to me. Tomorrow I’m going to wake up with massive difficulty breathing. I pray not, but kind of expecting it to. I appreciate hearing what you went through, and I think this kind of unfiltered information can help others who are dealing with it now, or do not have it, but are afraid from the media fear porn machine. Real life experiences can help people understand better in what to expect when it happens. I know it affects everyone differently, as in my family’s case. Hopefully, I and others, like you, although, you did have to go to the hospital, can help people understand better.
BTW, when you went to the hospital, how afraid were you? What were you thinking about? If you don’t mind sharing.

Also I was at tractor supply this weekend and bought the last bit of ivermectin they had. They said they can’t keep it in the shelves. So I hope that helps. My friend used it for her infection and was over it within 24 hours of taking ivermectin (horse paste).

Saturday and yesterday, my mind felt a little foggy. Today. Slight fog, but I’m thinking possibly due to lack of sleep. I’ll let you know in the coming days if it changes or what changes there are. So far, so good. Great question!

Re: My COVID story.
As weird as this sounds, try saying affirmations to yourself.

Your brain will start to respond by making this statement true for you. Scientifically proven. This is how placebos work. The brain is "tricked" into thinking that it is receiving something good for it and the body will respond with the healing.

Say things to yourself like:
"I am in perfect health"
"My body is healing every moment"
"I am improving every hour"

Hope this helps!

Prayers for you and your family to recover. hf

Re: My COVID story.
Crank that vitamin c up to as much as you can take without getting the shits. Minimum 3 grams as 1g doses, morning noon and night. Preferably as liposomal vitamin c. And take your horse paste but don’t be stupid read multiple dosing guidelines.
