Why do they have amphibious forces? They’re not going anywhere...
What they need to do is arm every adult citizen with an assault rifle and train them to use it.
They should keep their rifles at home with a few hundred rounds of ammo.

China can try to take the independent nation of Taiwan by force, or subvert its government officials and legal system like they did in Hong Kong.

If I were Taiwan and China invaded, I'd throw everything I had at Three Gorges Dam. It would prob be nearly impossible to bring down but I'd die trying.

China is favored to quickly defeat Taiwan.

But, if China fucks up and fails to destroy Taiwan's ability to execute it's defense plan it is very possible that China's landing force gets decimated at sea.

And it'll take all of China's amphibious assets to invade. If that gets sunk then China will have a hard time.

You won't find China leaving their Troops out in the open to get slaughtered.
