There’s no hidden message or any meaning in that movie, plot isn’t very good. People get old very fast on the beach. I wish I didn’t spend money on that and just watched it online later. Quoting: Hopeforchange Shyamalan is like that.... I hate so many of his movies yet I watch them all and some more than twice. It's funny. He has a way of presentation that intrigues me but half way through I'm usually incredulous. One of these days... A *REAL* rain is gonna come and wash all this scum off the streets. |

User ID: 80126081 United States 08/22/2021 01:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Shyamalan hasn’t lived up to my expectations, so I went in assuming I’d leave underwhelmed. When 5 minutes in I realized I’d signed up for a PG 13 horror movie—typically I just don’t—I knew it was going to be a bit of a snoozer. The plot was meh, but there were enough tension-filled moments to keep me somewhat engaged. The traditional Shyamalanian attempt to throw a curveball out of left field, and tie together his vision with previously unseen details over the last 10 minutes, did the movie no favors. **spoilerish** As far as “woke BS”, I was a little put off by the surgeon’s mental illness consistently boiling down to him not trusting the black rapper. It didn’t seem to tie into his backstory and felt a little trite and forced. Yeah, that’s the thing, it’s like he directs or hires weak actors, though Glass was an okay watch. And basically these sickos had been testing the same humans for 1000s of years or whatever. |

Conceptually pretty interesting - execution could have been better, but certainly didn't offend. Upgrade the acting and it may have become a very interesting movie. The one thing I WILL give it wholeheartedly is the moral conundrum. Regardless of how bad a movie is, if it at ANY point makes me think anything deeper than surface thoughts, it was worth the time. Solid 3.5 for me. Enjoy! ad ignorantiam - The assumption of a conclusion or fact based primarily on lack of evidence to the contrary. User ID: 79834879 Panama 10/02/2021 05:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | *SPOILER* The explanation for that was they couldn't get out the way they came in soon enough to save themselves, and the rest of the beach was surrounded by tall cliffs that they couldn't climb. After spending hours in a place where time was sped up, they needed to leave slowly to gradually re-acclimate to normal time, sort of like a deep sea diver can't swim to the surface too fast without getting the bends. The amount of time it would take to get out the way they came in would be too long, and they'd age too much. No explanation was given for why they could go in quickly, but not get out quickly. |

Quoting: LTHN. Anyone on here seen it yet? OP, the movie was okay, better than a lot of movies nowadays, which isn't saying much. It's not anywhere near as good as his older stuff, like The Sixth Sense, but decent enough. I wouldn't pay too much to see it though. |
