Now while on holidays I am told by a co-worker to check my email for this..... I am numb and feel violated. There is not a specific date yet, but you know there will be one. Quoting: CrazyMama73 For those who say "let them fire you, then sue them".. That is great, but reality is I can't afford no income and try to pay for a lawyer for wrongful dismissal. However with the rate that Canada is implementing this mandate am I kidding myself to think I can find work that will not have this mandated in less then say 2 months? I will ride this out for as long as I can. My son sees how distraught I am and asked if this means he will have to be vaccinated too now. I am so fucking distraught right now. I have edited the email to not show the name of the company, or any personal information. To all employees in Canada, Last week, the federal government announced that it will be requiring mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for federal public service employees and articulated an expectation that federally regulated employers, including banks, also require vaccines for their employees. While we will have to work with the government and across the industry on implementing these guidelines, we see this announcement as an important next step in curbing the Delta variant and ensuring Canada’s ability to emerge from the pandemic on strong economic footing. As we have since the start of the pandemic, we want to communicate with you as transparently as possible, which is why we are letting you know that we are moving in the direction of making vaccinations mandatory for all Canadian-based employees, and contractors, later in the Fall. Since COVID-19 emerged in our lives, the Bank has continually adopted measures to keep our workplaces healthy and safe, including rapid testing at select sites, while strongly encouraging all employees to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, public health guidance tells us that COVID-19 is not disappearing anytime soon, and employers need to remain agile and continuously adapt their health and safety practices. Mandatory vaccines, along with testing, will be a key part in making our workplaces safer and supporting Canada’s economic recovery. In terms of next steps, our approach has and will continue to be data driven. Across the landscape, many employers are taking steps to understand the vaccine status of their employee populations. This is incredibly important to ensuring workplaces remain healthy in light of the Delta variant. You will soon receive a link to a mandatory and confidential survey where you will be asked to provide your vaccination status. You will have the option of selecting whether you are fully or partially vaccinated, unvaccinated, if you intend on being vaccinated, or you can choose to not disclose. You will also have the opportunity to share feedback that may be valuable to the Bank. You can be assured that the information you provide in this survey will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with your manager. It will be held centrally and used for operational planning purposes only. Given the size and the diverse nature of our operations, implementing mandatory vaccinations will be a complex undertaking and we will communicate as much as we can while this work continues. In closing, the Bank’s position has always been that the approved COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and the best way to keep our workplaces healthy. We know that each COVID-19 vaccine brings us one step closer to opening up our communities and will allow for more face to face interaction between employees and customers. While the choice to become vaccinated is an individual one, we all have a responsibility to each other. Until such time as vaccines become mandatory, we continue to strongly encourage all employees to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To all employees who are fully vaccinated, thank you for contributing to healthier and safer workplaces and communities. As always, we will keep you posted on our current plans, and should the facts or data evolve and require these plans to adapt, we will continue to provide timely and transparent updates to you. User ID: 78547034 United States 08/20/2021 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Saying a prayer for you, OP! God loves you and promises to provide all of your needs if you seek Him first. Cry out to Him, seek Him first in your life and watch what He will do for you and your family! Here is an example a friend told me of their personal experience... recently, my friend was laid off and would not receive any unemployment benefits until 30 days later. He has a wife and 2 kids at home and the only food in the house was a half empty box of cereal. So he prayed for God to provide for his family until they could get some money coming in. God told my friend (and yes, God does speak to His children), that He would feed my friend's entire family from that box of cereal but under no circumstances were they to look inside the box! So for 30 days, my friend, his wife and two children ate from that box of cereal each day and never went hungry. They all marveled at this miracle but my friend forbid any of them from looking in the box. Finally his money arrived and they were able to go to the grocery store. His oldest child said he couldn't stand it and had to look in the box. My friend gave him permission and when they looked in the box, it was totally empty. They never got another morsel after that. TRUE STORY! God is good and will provide. All He asks is that you seek Him in a personal relationship, believe on His Son, Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. I hope this encourages you! "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." User ID: 29794162 United States 08/25/2021 12:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP this is hitting closer to home now, as my mother is dealing with a vaccine mandate. Me - I'm a software developer. I already structured my whole career around not dealing with people or keeping regular hours. I tell my employer when and how I'll work. My policy is as it always has been: my body, my business, I'll get another job before I disclose to you what I put in my body ... but that's ME. My mother is 67 years old and has been a parochial school teacher for 42 years. She willingly got the vaccine as soon as it was available and has had no problems (except a brief bout of hip paralysis that she refuses to associate with the shot), but her decision had nothing to do with work or any mandate - it was all hers. However the governor has just MANDATED that all teachers in the state - public AND private schools - be vaccinated ... and my mother is at risk of losing her loyal and most-favorite-ever classroom aide, Kelly, who refuses to be vaccinated. Mom is beside herself. This is my advice to her to pass on to Kelly: 1) Your employer is not doing you a favor by giving you a job. Being "allowed" to work is a ludicrous concept and although it seems dire, if you think you OWE your employer anything in order to be "allowed" to work, your whole perspective is skewed. 2) No one can make you get a shot in your body. If that's THEIR mandate, then THEY have to deal with the consequences and accommodate YOU. 3) In my state and in others, if they cannot accommodate YOU after they hired you, they are responsible. I know lawyers are expensive, OP, and you shouldn't rely on one to "keep your job" (there are many jobs) ... but trust me, lawyers will be ready to collect compensation from people wronged by this bulshit. 4) Take it one day at a time. Remember that there was only supposed to be "2 weeks to flatten the curve" ... things change like the wind. One day at a time, OP. Don't YOU do anything YOU wouldn't have done before this nonsense, and YOU will be fine. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Not me, my dear one - THIS IS MY SACRED LIFE - to no one nor no thing I'll surrender. For how does one know where when dead she will go, or if sweet Mother Earth he'll remember? - Sug |

Quoting: lemonrumba My company just sent out a survey on vaxxed/unvaxxed. They are wanting to get an idea on it - I’m concerned we’ll be mandated here before too long as well. They have stated that even if the new "hybrid system" allows for some departments to work from home, mandatory vaccine still applies, as you may have to come into the office to have lap top repairs, software issues resolved, etc. Amazing how before this, you simply came in, got the repairs done, issues fixed with a mask. The idea that you need a lawyer is false. Everything you need to know about legal procedure is online and if you're willing to do a little work and study, you can do it yourself and you'll never have to go to court, you'll simply reach settlement. Yes I can take this to arbitration, I can choose to not work there. But this mandate is the domino affect. Our Transit is being mandated, teachers, nurses, PSW's, it is happening. Fact remains will there actually be any work left that is not mandated because of the Canadian Government putting their nose into where it does not belong. yes. after of the vaxtards die off. |
