The "in October" thing has been echoed in businesses across the US and Canada.

I'm assuming it's an arbitrary agreed-upon date based on the assumption that the thing will be FDA (or equivalent) approved by then.

In other words, it's a gamble.

Delay as long as possible.

YOU have family responsibilities, obviously some posters here who are saying some of the outlandish things do NOT have family responsibilities.

The longer you can delay the more we will know about the secondary effects of each of the vaccines, so when you MUST take it in order to provide for your family you can hopefully take the least damaging one.

Men in particular put themselves In Harms Way in order to both protect form, and provide for, their families. Think of the Coal Miners in 1900 ... or Rail Road Brakemen from 1870 until the Westinhouse Brake started being installed (very very high death rate of Brakemen - almost guaranteed to die in fact if you did that job for 20 years). Servicemen who were married and with kids who served in combat in the Civil War, WW 1, WW 2, Korea, Vietnam.

YOU are doing nothing different if you have to take the Jab than MILLIONS of men have done in order to provide for their families over the last couple of centuries. YOU are taking risks so as to provide for your family and for THEIR future.

Change how you think about it ... and you will sleep better.

A little work? That is unrealistic. I would not be able to do it myself, nor can most people. Just getting through the day is challenging enough right now, many of us are already broken. This is about more than that. It's the corptocracy, the takeover.
It's up to those of you strong enough and with the time to defend the weak. Most of us can't even feed ourselves right now. I'm hanging off a cliff by my fingernails.
I dont even have it as bad as most people do and i can barely hold on.

I had been mentioning this since Trudeau announced he would mandate it... Now while on holidays I am told by a co-worker to check my email for this..... I am numb and feel violated. There is not a specific date yet, but you know there will be one.

For those who say "let them fire you, then sue them".. That is great, but reality is I can't afford no income and try to pay for a lawyer for wrongful dismissal. This case could go potentially for years.. Banks have $$$ that I can't compare with. I am almost 50, can I learn new skill sets for a different job? Absolutely. However with the rate that Canada is implementing this mandate am I kidding myself to think I can find work that will not have this mandated in less then say 2 months?

I will ride this out for as long as I can. My son sees how distraught I am and asked if this means he will have to be vaccinated too now. I am so fucking distraught right now.

Yes I can take this to arbitration, I can choose to not work there. But this mandate is the domino affect. Our Transit is being mandated, teachers, nurses, PSW's, it is happening. They got 90% of the population by the gonads with no recourse to be had; either comply or become an orphan homeless person.

they can't make you disclose your health information on mandator basis, at list yet.

You could have health reason not to take vaccine (some cardiac disease, and if they knew about that condition they would let you go because you would be liability to their policy.

Or.

You could have religions exemption, if they know about that religion they would let you go because it is not in line with their policy.

This is the time when people have to shut the fuck up, research nd serve them with legal response that can be found all over the internet.

I am a federal worker and here's a quote from the letter we got.

''The approach we develop will respect any requirements to accomodate under the Canadian Human Rights Act and will respect employees privacy by complying with the Privacy Act.''

They might move you around, change your job definition but they cannot legaly fire you.

Options...
1- Take the jab, cross fingers for no early side affects and drop dead in a few years leaving my children.

2- Don't take the jab, company fires me with "just cause", I don't qualify for EI or Social Assistance and try to find a company that is not mandating this fucking vaccine (did I mention they are trying to mandate everything or give the private sector a final excuse to go ahead and start mandating)

3 -Don't take the jab, company fires me with "just cause", "lawyer up" and ride a potential lawsuit out for years with no income and hope I get something once the lawyer takes his cut.

4- Go on LOA or stress leave as soon as they give mentioned mandated date to get the jab.. give myself a few more months to find a way to supplement lost income.. sell tomatoes from my tomato plants , right.. living in Canada we only have a 3 month growing season... find other source of supplementing income that does not require mandated vaccine.

On the Canada thread the other night, you mentioned your sector. I too am in the financial sector waiting to get the news. My thoughts and those of my colleagues- is wait it out. Legally, it’s likely to be overturned. Between FOIP and medical privacy, it’s not currently legally mandated that they can do it. Our best guess is that at the 11th hour they will say ok, fine it’s your choice - just hoping that a large number of people are pressured into doing it. That said all of my colleagues are vaxxed. I am the odd one out, but all of us stand for the right to make your own medical decisions.
I am hoping in my area of the country, which still seems to have some freedoms. That it stays like that.

Sending you kind thoughts. I know how stressful this is.

If I did not have children I would not be freaked out at all by the threats. I would ride it out , tell them to go fuck themselves as I ride out going on LOA and find some shitty job. I have kids, they need to be fed and looked after. IF you don't look after your kids, they take them away. Not taking the shot could make you an "unfit parent". Who knows.. On the Canada thread the other night, you mentioned your sector. I too am in the financial sector waiting to get the news. My thoughts and those of my colleagues- is wait it out. Legally, it’s likely to be overturned. Between FOIP and medical privacy, it’s not currently legally mandated that they can do it. Our best guess is that at the 11th hour they will say ok, fine it’s your choice - just hoping that a large number of people are pressured into doing it. That said all of my colleagues are vaxxed. I am the odd one out, but all of us stand for the right to make your own medical decisions.
I am hoping in my area of the country, which still seems to have some freedoms. That it stays like that.

Sending you kind thoughts. I know how stressful this is.

I had been mentioning this since Trudeau announced he would mandate it... Now while on holidays I am told by a co-worker to check my email for this..... I am numb and feel violated. There is not a specific date yet, but you know there will be one.

For those who say "let them fire you, then sue them".. That is great, but reality is I can't afford no income and try to pay for a lawyer for wrongful dismissal. This case could go potentially for years.. Banks have $$$ that I can't compare with. I am almost 50, can I learn new skill sets for a different job? Absolutely. However with the rate that Canada is implementing this mandate am I kidding myself to think I can find work that will not have this mandated in less then say 2 months?

I will ride this out for as long as I can. My son sees how distraught I am and asked if this means he will have to be vaccinated too now. I am so fucking distraught right now.

Last week, the federal government announced that it will be requiring mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for federal public service employees and articulated an expectation that federally regulated employers, including banks, also require vaccines for their employees. While we will have to work with the government and across the industry on implementing these guidelines, we see this announcement as an important next step in curbing the Delta variant and ensuring Canada’s ability to emerge from the pandemic on strong economic footing.
As we have since the start of the pandemic, we want to communicate with you as transparently as possible, which is why we are letting you know that we are moving in the direction of making vaccinations mandatory for all Canadian-based employees, and contractors, later in the Fall. Since COVID-19 emerged in our lives, the Bank has continually adopted measures to keep our workplaces healthy and safe, including rapid testing at select sites, while strongly encouraging all employees to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, public health guidance tells us that COVID-19 is not disappearing anytime soon, and employers need to remain agile and continuously adapt their health and safety practices. Mandatory vaccines, along with testing, will be a key part in making our workplaces safer and supporting Canada’s economic recovery.
In terms of next steps, our approach has and will continue to be data driven. Across the landscape, many employers are taking steps to understand the vaccine status of their employee populations. This is incredibly important to ensuring workplaces remain healthy in light of the Delta variant. You will soon receive a link to a mandatory and confidential survey where you will be asked to provide your vaccination status. You will have the option of selecting whether you are fully or partially vaccinated, unvaccinated, if you intend on being vaccinated, or you can choose to not disclose. You will also have the opportunity to share feedback that may be valuable to the Bank. You can be assured that the information you provide in this survey will be treated as confidential and will not be shared with your manager. It will be held centrally and used for operational planning purposes only. Given the size and the diverse nature of our operations, implementing mandatory vaccinations will be a complex undertaking and we will communicate as much as we can while this work continues.
In closing, the Bank’s position has always been that the approved COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and the best way to keep our workplaces healthy. We know that each COVID-19 vaccine brings us one step closer to opening up our communities and will allow for more face to face interaction between employees and customers. While the choice to become vaccinated is an individual one, we all have a responsibility to each other. Until such time as vaccines become mandatory, we continue to strongly encourage all employees to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
To all employees who are fully vaccinated, thank you for contributing to healthier and safer workplaces and communities. As always, we will keep you posted on our current plans, and should the facts or data evolve and require these plans to adapt, we will continue to provide timely and transparent updates to you.

they can't make you disclose your health information on mandator basis, at list yet.

You could have health reason not to take vaccine (some cardiac disease, and if they knew about that condition they would let you go because you would be liability to their policy.

Or.

You could have religions exemption, if they know about that religion they would let you go because it is not in line with their policy.

This is the time when people have to shut the fuck up, research nd serve them with legal response that can be found all over the internet.


Yes I agree. I already have a liability document that they will have to sign. I am getting as much information that I am able to obtain that applies to Canadian Law and Rights. It is fucking disheartening though when the majority do not know what their rights are or now where to find them. It is also disheartening that the people you used to work with who got the jab now think those who didn't get it have no rights. We have had a few "company meetings" that were completely derailed because of the psychotic ones. It is literally splitting the company and it is getting ugly.

People gotta be willing to risk not working for a while in order to demonstrate that if they are going to be fascists, they're not going to have workers/infrastructure.

Let it burn.

Every person that refuses to vaxx even if they're going to lose job/family/services is a Hero when all is said and done.

Maybe a Martyr, but still a hero.

If you are afraid or weak, just go get the vaxx. Because eventually, you will anyway.

Easier said than done if you have a child to feed. Maybe people who have the means to actually do this should set up funds for those who don't and have children especially, otherwise it's all big talk from people who have the means down to people who don't.

The same thing is happening in my organization right now, OP. They gave us less than a month to get the jab or lose our jobs.

Our options are to get either a medical or religious exemption. Medical exemptions are nearly impossible to get, even for pregnant women.

Religious exemptions are being granted. If approved, we will be placed on Leave of Absence. While on LOA, we still have use of medical benefits and PTO.

Meanwhile, our group has consulted legal help. We are being told to form a non-profit and the lawyers will represent us. I’m not sure how it works, it’s still developing.

Good luck to you, OP. I don’t know if any of the above are options for you, but it may be worth looking into.

Thank you. My department right now, the majority are already vaccinated. We have always seemed a united front and agree we are all just happy to have the choice. Who knows how they feel after work. Those of us who are not vaccinated will indeed ride this out. I know they are asking about our vaccination status to have an idea of how many they may need to contend with. I am surprised though that they are still requesting it when legally we do not have to state.

it says it's just a mandatory survey. Every worker should send it back will not disclose.

Here's what I would do:

1. Not take the vaccine

2. Keep working until they fire me for not taking the vaccine

3. Trust God that a new opportunity will show up

4. Survive until the whole charade blows up and sanity is restored, as it ultimately must

I'm not envying your situation though - it must be terrifying to be faced with open fascist oppression, up close and personal. It's easy for me to tell people to have faith when it's not my faith that is being tested...
