Quoting: Prayandprepare000 I was thinking that with the shortages I should get another pair. Last spring there were maybe 20 colors on their website and the same on Amazon. Now there is one white pair in my size at the TEVA site, and only an ugly green in stock on Amazon plus maybe a gray. I settled for a lavender one I like that is supposed to come in a month. It isn't the end of the world at all for me, but I did tell hub to stock up on extra footwear. It's all made in China. If you need special brands for foot problems, get it now. I had trouble getting new sandals this year too, had to order them because the store didn't have any in stock. I was on Amazon last night trying to order 2 pairs of hiking sandals. Selection is horrible and hard to find in my size. |

It will only get worse before it gets better. Get ready to hunker down and provide for your immediate family and maybe a few trusted neighbors. Once the power goes out all bets are off. If you don't have enough stocked up for a year then you will be knocking on your neighbors door for a can of spam. You might be met with a 45 in the face. Stock up now for what you think you might need. TP, paper towels, boxed food, ravioli in a can....etc. You might not get a second chance. |

I know what inventory levels should look like in all stores. OP is 00% right. I see most stores 20-30% before standard inventory levels. It’s real. They are making less for various reasons but at the end of the day it’s because the population will be less. I know there have been threads on food shortages and things. But I tried to buy a garage door today.....was told at Home Depot that they would order one (nothing odd, nothing fancy)...a standard 9x7 door...but it would take at LEAST 12-16 WEEKS! Quoting: Dr FossilFuel Burner Tried to order a Chinese (I'm Sure) radio off Amazon...got a email saying it would be delivered in January 2022!!!! Crap's getting REAL Bad! Yup. Got a 2020 Ford Explorer last May, and the rear folding headrests don’t work. It’s under warranty, but had the dealership order the parts 3 months ago…still not in. Now being told Ford switched manufacturers for the components and now looking at FEBRUARY 2022. |

Quoting: Dr FossilFuel Burner That is almost certainly not the sort of shortage you think it is, it's this: The "store" on Amazon is probably just some Shmoe in the US trying to hustle money and he doesn't even have the capital to buy inventory. They intend to wait for people to place an order on Amazon before they place an order from a store in China using Aliexpress. Then the store in China ships to them and then they ship it to you. They buy it for $25 from Aliexpress and charge you $50 or $75 etc, as much as they can. The turnaround will probably be quicker than January 2022, but they say that to cover every contingency so as not to have to give you your money back in case there actually is a very long wait for whatever reason. Alibaba existed for a long time as a way to buy wholesale size orders direct from China. People would and still do buy things there like 50 shirts for a few dollars each and then sell them on Amazon after marking them up quite a bit. Aliexpress came out a lot later and you can buy individual sized orders there, but a lot of people still don't realize it and still don't use it. Aliexpress is not the easiest place to shop, it can be a bit confusing till you get familiar with it. But basically you can buy anything made in China there and often enough it's cheaper. Shipping direct from China is not bad anymore either. You can pay not much money and wait ~2-3 weeks or you can pay a basic shipping fee and probably DHL will get it to you in a weekish or faster if you pay more. |

Safelite told us it would be about 3 weeks. That appointment came and went, now pushed out another month... Quoting: OrthodoxMom Screw that noise. [link to www.autozone.com (secure)] This was super easy to do. It fixed my windshield with a star crack from a rock. FYI, I fill my rock chips in windshield with pitch from a Doug Fir next to my driveway.. Melt it in there with a cigarette lighter. Fills them and keeps them from becoming cracks. Re-apply in the fall before first frost. |

He always hooks me up with deals and is an honest guy(also happens to be a vet) Quoting: Sheol I told him I needed a washing machine and I pointed at three and he said he couldn’t sell them, I asked about a couple more and same story so I asked how bout you tell me what you can sell. We started talking about the shortage and he told me he can’t sell the machines on the floor because they want the store to look full but there are very few to any machines in the pipeline coming anytime soon. Same with fridges/freezers/ac etc Luckily, 3 months ago both my refrigerator and washer died. Conn's had a good selection and everything was in stock. I need a central AC indoor blower, I've told my husband about the shortage coming the last 2 years and the ass keeps putting off ordering one. I'm going to be so mad if it's dies and we can't get one. Our local stores are short on eggs again, cleaning supplies, bleach and some canned goods. |

I think I have more stockpiled for them than for us, lol I found this out too. I had a lot of it stockpiled, but when I went to replenish...empty shelves! Did everyone go out and get a cat? Anyway, I went and bought a boatload of tuna. It'll be back up if I can't get other food. Not only that, but the beast will not touch pate. It's gotta be fillets or nothing. Except it will always eat tuna. |

Believe me I'm glad to have a washing machine at all but every time I want to wash a load I have to squeeze behind the cabinets and shit to turn the water on. If I leave it on it will drip in to the m=tub of washer and over flow. This seems like something they would keep on hand really but what do I know |
