My visit with doctor today - regarding Covid testing

I tested positive for Covid on the 11th, but started having symptoms on the 7th of August. I've been taking a well known antiviral, and feel way better. No fever or symptoms for 48 hours.

So I go to test so that I can return to work.

I am still positive.

The doctor clearly told me that they've known since last year that the testing is flawed. She thinks I am fine to go out and about and they do not tell people negative testing is required to return to work.

They only need to live out their 10 days of isolation and then they are free to go back. ( this concerns me in people who may have higher viral loads and still feel bad)


She told me that when she tested positive and had covid last year-

She tested positive for about a month with no symptoms whatsoever.

When I told her I'd been on the medication, I am on, she told me "you're good".

Little by little even docs are telling the truth. Even ones that probably did not in the past.

Let's hope this continues. While we've all known the testing is a mess, it's nice to hear it from a doctor.
