Another film I remember would be 1976's VICTORY AT ENTEBBE where a tour group was held hostage at the airport by Idi Amin. But that movie had the added bonus of Elizabeth Taylor, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Richard Dreyfuss and Anthony Hopkins!

So there's lots of reference material to draw from if this was a production of some kind.
