The well-known vitamin supplement product called "Emergen-C" was bought by Pfizer a few years ago

A lot of people here have probably used that fizzy drink mix powder called "Emergen-C" that comes in little packets at the health food stores.

It's a good product, it's been around a long time, it was a family owned company (Alacer Corp.) for many years.

When the inventor/owner retired he sold Alacer Corp. to Pfizer, major pharmaceutical company and vaccine manufacturer.

When I found out "Emergen-C" was owned by Pfizer, I quit buying it and never bought it again.

There are a lot of similar copycat products, NOW, Swanson, and Vitacost all have their own versions.

I used to like to bring that along when traveling, handy to have, good for the immune system.

But - I really don't want to support pharmaceutical companies if I can avoid it, especially when there are alternatives.

Thought others might want to know in case they hadn't heard that before.
