Seems the only nations officially still proceeding with evacuations now are US, UK and Spain.

The gates are closed: UK's Afghan evacuation will end 'in hours' and the 1,000 people already inside Kabul airport will be the last to be flown out - amid fears ISIS will strike again following attack that killed more than 100 people

At least 108 confirmed killed in this attack. I think this might be deadliest suicide vest attack too.

Legitimately honest question here... Am I supposed to be making a new thread for every piece of news coming out Afghanistan. I've watch this happen like this for weeks now.

Unlike your self, I am a paid member of GLP, and have been for many years.

With that being said, I'll post a thread on anything I want, at any time I want, without consulting with you. Only the mods can and will restrict what I post.

Evidently, you have proclaimed that your thread is the only one that should be viewed with concerns to the Afghan situation.

Again, get over yourself. just sayin'....

There is literally thousands of people right back where the suicide bomber blew himself up yesterday. I'd love to see the press ask this question to John Kirby about security when you see no obvious change in conditions right outside the airport gates.

But the taliban is doing more vehicle checks now. SMH

Gen Taylor was asked about reports of ISIS-K attacking Taliban check points in Kabul. I haven't seen such reports.

A notable thing from the Pentagon is they're now saying that this was only 1 suicide vest and not 2 explosions. It's hard for me to believe 1 suicide vest killed and injured that many people. Was he wearing suicide pants as well??

Yes which is what makes it confusing. From what I understood yesterday it was a coordinated attack in which the first blast went off very close to the Abbey gate. People ran the only route they could which was towards the Baron hotel where the second blast went off.

I was under the impression that it was the 2nd blast that caused the most deaths and injuries to Afghans. And that the 2nd blast was a Vehicle IED.

They did admit that the suicide vest attack was followed by lots of shooting. Additional shooting would explain the high amount of victims and injuries. But they haven't revealed anything to suggest any other attacker was killed. I have a lesser degree of understanding to what actually than what seemed relatively clear yesterday.

Yeah...to do that, one guy would have had to have looked like the suicide Michelin Man.

At this point, if I were one of the remaining US service members in Kabul, if one of those Hajjiis even looked at me funny, I would be hard pressed not to just drop them and let the chips fall where they may.

USAF now turning off transponders over the Gulf of Oman. I was tracking a KC-10 cargo that was just seen over the Gulf of Oman because that same aircraft was operating in Northern Afghanistan I believe 2 days ago. This is the first I've seen USAF turn off transponders over the Gulf of Oman. I suspected that aircraft might of did an airdrop to anti-taliban resistance forces. We also have some privately funded Americans doing their independent evacuations in Northern Afghanistan. Project Dynamo for example.

From what I've been seeing since tracking the flights around Afghanistan is all the cargo planes have been keeping transponders on/off around Kandahar when entering/leaving Afghanistan.
