Would you ever put a dog or puppy up on your dresser with delicate "break-ables"?

CATS AND DRESSERS.

Cats don't ask, they just nimbly leap on the dresser, delicate "break-ables" n' all, effortlessly master that obstacle course, then sit on the edge of it, and mock the dog.

DOGS.

"I talk to him when I'm lonesome-like
and I'm sure that he understands
when he looks at me attentively
and gently licks my hands.
Then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes,
but I never say aught thereat,
for the Good Lord knows I can buy more clothes,
but never a friend like that!
So my good old pal, my irregular dog,
my flea-bitten, stub-tailed friend,
Has become a part of my very heart,
to be cherished till lifetime's end.
And on the Judgement-day, if I take the way
that leads where the righteous meet,
if my dog is barred by the heavenly guard-
we'll both of us brave the heat!"

LETTING GO OF UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.

"All the people in your life are truly doing the best they can with what they have. People can only love you to the capacity that they are able to love themselves. They can only forgive and embrace you to the capacity that they are able to forgive and embrace themselves. They can only give you what they have the capacity to give. You may think that you deserve more, and you may be correct. But that means nothing if a person simply doesn't have the ability to give it to you." -Lisa Nichols

Re: THINKING OUT LOUD. (My Journal)
THE TIME I CUSSED GOD OUT.

He kept nudging me about "forgiveness".I kept hearing sermons and messages about "forgiveness", Really??!! (Most were buffoons who had no regard for the inexplicably wounded, and actually would put the hurting and wounded in harm's way, as they "blamed" the victims who had already been subject to brutal bullying and tyranny).

The audacity of Him. Was He KIDDING me??!!

i told Him where He could stick His "forgiveness". i told Him to get the hell out of my face. i told Him to go to hell. i was furious.

I also told Him i ain't forgiving ANYBODY.

i never intended to either.

Yet, just like a "horse whisperer" that can calm a spooked, traumatized horse, He gradually did the same for me.

It started when i realized He wasn't mad at me. Apparently He understood the "why" of my flailings, rooted in my deeply wounded and traumatized heart, soul, and mind.

The bottom line, is that He knew something that i did not know, and that was that i desperately needed healing, not only for my deeply traumatized heart, mind, and soul, but also for the self-loathing that permeated my very being, and thus my own need for forgiveness.

He also knew that this forgiveness was not possible until i forgave those who most hurt me. He also knew that i was not only unwilling, but incapable of any forgiveness at all.

Yet He was, in baby-steps, enabling me to trust Him, and thus to lead me in this impossibility.

It would take a miracle.

It was as if He said "Watch me. Is anything too hard for me?"

The ones who had hurt me so badly weren't even asking for forgiveness, and given the opportunity, would most likely hurt me again, or attempt to.

In this chapter, God was teaching me that i was ensnared in the same net with those who had hurt me. We were all in chains, in prison.

Unforgiveness was hurting me more than it was hurting them. It was the basis of my self-loathing, that permeated my very being.

God knew that i needed release and healing, even if i didn't.

He was being the "sane" Father i never had. He understood my hurts and my struggles, my armor, and my defensiveness. These were all the coping/survival skills i had developed. However, it was time to develop and grow "wings".

It is not possible to grow "wings" in a base of toxicity, self-loathing, and chains. He knew this.

His intention was to set me free from those chains.

And in His "boot camp", He did.

He worked in my heart, mind, and soul, as healing slowly commenced.

And a miracle happened.

i was able to forgive my mother.

FORGIVENESS.

i did not really love my mother until i "grew up". God's grace enabled me to see her differently, in a new light. i no longer saw her as a 'mommy' that did not meet my needs, who hurt me, but as a woman who suffered greatly as a child, and as an adult, and who was unable to ask my forgiveness. God enabled me to see past her faults and see her need. We developed a new relationship before she died and i am thankful to God for it. By the time she passed we had been reconciled and had a relationship that was genuinely a friendship. i had learned not to expect something from her thst she was unable to give. In the beginning, our visits were brief, and lasted only as long as it was genuinely tolerable...i met with her in "doses". Our visits became longer, and always were because we genuinely enjoyed each others company. i saw clearly just who she was, her limitations, and mine. It was 'real' for the 1st time in my life. My mom knew that i genuinely loved, respected, and saw her as the unique person she was and that i delighted beinb with her. i realized only after she died what God must have been doing...He was loving her through me.

Re: THINKING OUT LOUD. (My Journal)
PRAYER: CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD.

"Tell God all that is in your heart, as one unloads one's heart, it's pleasures and its pains, to a dear friend. Tell Him your troubles, that He may comfort you; tell Him your joys, that He may sober them; tell Him your longings, that He may purify them; tell Him your dislikes, that He may help you conquer them; talk to Him of your temptations, that He may shield you from them; show Him the wounds of your heart, that H may heal them; lay bare your indifference to good, your depraved tastes for evil, your instability...Tell Him how self-love makes you unjust to others, how vanity tempts you to be insincere, how pride disguises you to yourself and others.

If you thus pour out all your weaknesses, needs, troubles, there will be no lack of what to say. You will never exhaust the subject. It is continually being renewed. People who have no secrets from each other never want for subjects of conversation. They do not weigh their words, for there is nothing to be held back; neither do they seek for something to say. They talk out of the abundance of the heart, without consideration they say just what they think. Blessed are they who attain to such familiar, unreserved intimacy with God." -Francois Fene'lon

A FRIEND.

"But oh! The blessing it is to have a friend to whom one can speak fearlessly, on any subject; with whom one's deepest as well as one's most foolish thoughts come out simply and safely. Oh, the comfort-the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person-having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away." -Dinah Maria Craik

Re: THINKING OUT LOUD. (My Journal)
AMAZING GRACE (A HOLY INTERRUPTION).

We all need to get over ourselves. NONE of us are perfect, and we KNOW in the deepest recesses of our hidden hearts n' souls that we are quite despicably depraved and that we gravitate towards evil and twistedness like white on rice.

Who DOESN'T need all the grace that God can muster to pour out on our sawwy selves.

It's not even about what we say and do. It's about those thoughts, no matter how fleeting, crop up in those recesses of our minds. We've done it all in those thoughts, haven't we?

The very fact thst we even give "birth" to those thoughts at ALL are indicative of a twisted, depraved, wicked heart that is not right with God.

We can't "hide" any of those thoughts from God, even if we can try to stuff them real quick-like into those back recesses of our hearts, souls, and minds.

We're really good and very practiced at denial. It's a coping skill, a mechanism that we all utilize to survive the oooogliness of stark reality that might crush or destroy us if we saw with crystal clear clarity just how distorted and depraved and oooogly not only the world is, but "us".

Secrets and denials stuffed and crammed into those closets of our hearts and minds and souls are what we would carry like cinder blocks, to our very last breaths, and to our very graves, if there is no intervention.

And that intervention is what is called a "holy interruption", also known as God's inexplicable "grace". It's the equivalent to what happened to Paul, riding that horse, when he was knocked off that horse. That was Paul's "holy interruption" aka God's "grace".

i've had several "holy interruptions".

i'm stubborn.

God, however, is not finished with me yet.

Re: THINKING OUT LOUD. (My Journal)
LEO BUSCAGLIA.

i first heard of Leo Buscaglia i think on Youtube. i was doing a search on "being human".

And there it was, a video on "the art of being human". He was a professor, and one of the most unique i'd ever heard. He counter-acted the idea that we must be "perfect", and me, being the recovering perfectionist that i was, was intrigued.

He spoke of our idiosyncrasies, and those very inescapable things about us that makes us human.

He also spoke of the tragedy of us possibly never coming to the realization that laughter and joy are the very remedies we all need from the tyranny of "perfection", and whatever else is ailing us.

The bottom line?

No one, not one living soul, should ever draw their last breath without ever experiencing laughter, and its twin, joy.

THIS is what makes life worth living, and it's what transforms just an "existence" to "living".

Based on his quotes i read, Professor Buscaglia was "child like", which is kinda' "fearless" when ya' think about it.

i mean skipping amongst leaves, chasing the wind requires an abandon only a small child would exhibit.

No fear.

Professor Buscaglia had the courage to just be himself, and to let his inner child come out and play.

The art of being human is to be oneself.

Fearlessly.

ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN.

Why do we not understand what "honoring" our men means? It does not mean "groveling"...it means rejoicing in and celebrating them.

This is what that verse means, where it says that when a man finds a wife, he finds a GOOD thing.
