Preferred Pronouns in the Workplace...CLOWN WORLD

Took him days to calm down, he's still unsettled and now uncomfortable with his job. Unfortunately it's a great, high paying job to boot, so it's not so easy just to walk away. In the end he may have to though.

My step-son works for a Tier 1 automotive supplier, recently a new company wide HR mandate called for Preferred Pronouns to be used when addressing co-workers in all intercompany email. His position requires email use all day, so it's been an adjustment to say the least, but then this happens...

He received an email addressing He/She/They, now given that his position is also strictly confidential in many cases, kept only between the two persons communicating, he questioned the sender on what the They meant. He didn't understand, and was concerned that there was more than just the sender communicating within the email. Legit concern, right?

He received a very VERY nasty response from the sender stating that they were greatly offended, that he/she identified as They and was subsequently accused of being a racist white supremacist. A short while later he was then called in for a meeting with his boss and his/her/they's boss, right on up the ladder, and was severely reprimanded as well as being threatened with being terminated as well as socially cancelled.

No, the They was the sender, it replied with He/She/They which caused him to question how many people were reading the email.

You'll have to excuse me. Im not trying to be difficult, just trying to get a handle on it exactly.

So, the reply to your step son..was the exact wording "He/She/They" written? But in what context?

How did the sender refer to himself in that way? In his sign off?

Like:

"Yours sincerely,
He/She/They" ?

We should all make up our own pronouns, make them ridiculously difficult to pronounce and remember...like xeirxonyx/xemxonyx.

Then every time a woke lib talks to you, even if they say your pronoun, just FREAK OUT and act like they got it wrong, tell them they're a bigot and that you're highly offended.

And then just a signature at the bottom. That's what caused him to question how many people were on the email, what THEY meant.

Ok. Ill take your word for it, but for the life of me I just still cant see the context..if, for example, you're male..I just cant see in what situation in an email you would send that you'd actually ever have to refer to yourself as 'he'.

Forget the 'they' then. Still can't see what "To whom it may concern he " means either.

Waiting for the day when the company I work for makes us state our pronouns, pretty sure it isn't that far off, there have been a lot of stupid "training" courses for diversity and respect in the workplace, understanding white privilege, etc. Word is these are going to become mandatory soon. All this when the business and the entire industry is just hanging on after 18 months of shut downs and restrictions. You can't make this shit up. I am on the hiring board and we are supposed to give preference to "minorities". We used to get hundreds of applications just a few years ago. Now we are lucky to get 10 and most of them are white. And if we hire only whites in this next group we will get reprimanded for not meeting diversity quotas. The day they ask me to identify my pronouns is the day I tell them it's none of anyone's business how I feel about my genitals, I come to work and earn a living, not discuss my feelings with people I don't care to know outside the workplace. Coming up on retirement so I don't care if they terminate me early.

HR is mostly made up of snotty women and jealous soft limp wristed beta males who haven't done a hard days work in their life and went to university where they were brainwashed into this pronoun garbage. Now they are implementing this Marxist garbage mainly on blue collar working class guys who were never indoctrinated with this crap. They are now weeding out certain groups of people they don't like such as those who never went to university or who are older and went before the indoctrination was in full swing, conservatives, heterosexual alpha males and white people with self respect that won't bow down and grovel and apologise enough for being born white. In other words your son was set up to fail their little nasty unfair test because he is male and probably straight and they don't like that because they are Marxist bigots. It's not fair to expect him to know their Marxist speak when he has never been indoctrinated with it and they damn well know it.

Yep. The problem with that is that once you weed out the people that actually know how to do the job, have experience and bring in revenue, these companies are going to be empty shells with no viable product or service to sell. I wonder how many of those HR twats will still have a job when the company goes under due to lack of talent on the front lines, the people that actually work. I already see it at my workplace. In the past two years I have seen almost all of the senior staff, most of them worked for the company for 20 years or more have left. Now we can't even fill supervisor positions with employees that know their shit and know how the business works, we are having to bring in recent hires that know less than the staff they are supervising. I am counting down the months to retirement.
