People go on vacations to "get away" and "rest". Then come back home to rest and get away from the STRESSFULL vacation!

Not me. When I go on vacation I sit around the house and do something local. Like go fishing in the river or just do a project around the house. I have no interest in going to travel destinations.

Just me. I don't care for it. Most of the time I feel people just do it to have some bragging rights. Keepin up with the jones' type stuff.

I have more fun sitting in my shop watching the paint dry watching a ball game on TV and drinking a beer.

What people used to do.

Now, I wouldn't mind a vacation in say ELK country during hunting season.

I'm a different sort of breed though. I can find entertainment for an hour looking underneath a rock in the river.

I am seriously considering tossing my cell phone in the trash.

Going on "get away" vacations is a concept from tourism agencies.....the act of scheduling, preparing, and traveling to a destination is more stressful work.....

I base my recreation times around activities rather than foreign locations.....I have friends that travel to other countries only to do the same stuff they can do at their house....lol....

I like recreation that is no longer than 3 days and done without much prep.....some of my best vacations is a fishing kayak trip a couple hr drive away....discovering a new fishing spot, exploring where only a kayak can get into.....trying a new fishing technique or catching a personal best.....

It cost little and gives me more satisfaction than traveling overseas to tourist traps...
