He's not an ideal of virtuousness, he's a night-life enthusiast and is living it up. Yeah, he's "different". But apart from that, he's a big brainiac and was acclaimed for that by the FN and Marine Lepen. He's got the brain to do the job and the mental misfits in the French government are quaking at the harshness of his words and the lashings he puts them through. Have you seen his TV appearances? He leaves the opposition panting. His technique is put about six or seven arguments in each SENTENCE. Nobody can fight that. He's like a 500 rounds machine gun. Don't get me wrong: as a Buddhist, I oppose weapons Concorde. I'm just saying (as an illustration) that he's got a quick, "rapid-fire" flow of speech and thoughts. Concorde you said you knew René Coty. That's what? The 50s? I remember when I first set foot in France (1964) it was Mitterand against Degaulle on the election boards set up on the sidewalks. As a kid I wondered who they all were. ...Then in 68 it was the same people but that time with J-M Lepen and Tixier-Vignancourt (as side-shows). Remember that? I make the mental comparison of someone who had no idea about politics like Degaulle, and compare him to Macron and think how massive public revolt sent Degaulle scurrying for cover. Macron is like Degaulle with no political background at all. He's a dropout who failed his Ecole Normale exam twice and was told he had no chance of getting in. Ecole Normale is for the elite and Macron's not part of that elite. He worked for Rothschild for two years and his fund amassed one billion euros in losses. The bank told him they'd pay him to leave with five million euros on condition that he promise to stay away from banking for ever. Now he's milking the French for their hard-earned cash. Macron was no politician at all, (like Degaulle). You summarized a good part of my life. Thank you for taking interest of all the events that have happened in this country for better or for worse. In fact lived through two Presidents during the 4th Republic, which had two Presidents. René Coty became President in 1954 after 13 rounds of votes at the Senate. I was 3 at the time. The one before him was Vincent Auriol. Coty was the President until January 1959 when General de Gaulle was voted in as his successor. He was inaugurated 1 June 1958. I was 9 year old. I was an early reader. I remember reading fluently at age 4. I liked following the news. I remember the Algeria War and de Gaulle assassination attempt in Le Petit Clamart 1962 by a group of pro-French Algeria group. de Gaulle got out of the attempt unscathed.
