Been messing with it a little. Its surprisingly(almost scary) good. I can imagine a future where developing is simply describing what you want in natural language and code equivalent will be made.
Also, been working for almost a year in an AI customer case response and sales chat. We improved the response time from operators in more than 200%, as the result, about half the team was fired for there was no more need for that many agents. Also, the sales robot is selling alone just as much as the rest of the human team. For simpler sales where the customer knows what they want, it goes very smooth, the agents only need to be involved whenever the customer is unsure.

Synthetic brain cells that store 'memories' are possible, new model reveals

Scientists have created key parts of synthetic brain cells that can hold cellular "memories" for milliseconds. The achievement could one day lead to computers that work like the human brain.

These parts, which were used to model an artificial brain cell, use charged particles called ions to produce an electrical signal, in the same way that information gets transferred between neurons in your brain.

Current computers can do incredible things, but this processing power comes at a high energy cost. In contrast, the human brain is remarkably efficient, using roughly the energy contained in two bananas to do an entire day's work.

Build an AI that daytrades stock every day for a profit.

Build an AI that provides full employment with zero work.

AI can do anything.

But it can only ever do more of the same, except shittier than the original.

AI can produce an infinite amount of "Beatles"-sounding music, but there's no musical genius in it. It's just mediocre shit that sounds like Beatles on a bad day:



The same will be true for everything an AI does. It will replace people, poorly, but cheaper. Expect a general nosedive in quality of all kinds of goods and services. And also expect a thriving market for "premium" goods and services provided by real humans.

I'm am old guy who has been writing code since the 80d up until the present professionally. AI is overhyped. There is nothing intelligent about it. It can only follow the human's original programming.
