Quoting: @Ohwell If they dont fix the eviction problem by Wednesday, the only logically conclusion is that this is nothing compared to what is coming and much, much worse is coming. Bullshit. Congress has no business inserting itself into landlord-tenant agreements. This country has a bunch of deadbeats who have received stimulus checks and unemployment - even while they could be working - who have decided not to pay their rent. Landlords, have been forced to carry their deadbeat asses while still having to maintain their properties and pay taxes. I'm not talking big corporate landlords, who I don't give a shit about, but landlords who own one or two rentals. These tenants will end up skating on the owed rent and the landlords will be saddled with the loss. In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |

Wtf did you think was going to happen, you would get to live free your entire life? Not planning is no excuse. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78624400 Thieves are all they are. Given free money and they spent it on weed and a stupid new tattoo. Somebody worked to build the place they’re renting. Someone saved their hard earned money to buy and maintain it and insure it and pay taxes on it. They want it for free. No way I’d own rental properties these days. I was going to build a duplex and let my kids live in it through community college, then give it to them so they could rent it out. No way with these new rules. Two more rental properties that won’t be built. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74141841 why are you folks such Governmental ass lickers and shills last year most of the businesses were closed for more than a year, most of them, because Trump declared national emergency for sniffles people had to buy food, clothes and feed their families now when they're trying to start up with their lives, without the resources from previous months, you're evicting these people?! are you aware that more than 50% of Americans don't have 400 bucks in their saving accounts and you're screaming, should've been prepared better how fucking lame what are you going to do about it? evictions are inevitable. they are going to happen. get ready for it. |

In other words, largely the same people who caused the economic crisis in the first place with their 'sheepish' behavior? These sound like the very sort of people who could benefit from a lesson in blind belief in government. Historically, such blind belief has led to catastrophe and collapsed societies. Not the sort of thing one should advocate, you'd think. Articles posted do not necessarily reflect endorsement. |

Many people will get booted out for not paying rent, can't say I feel sorry for them. I was out of work due to family medical needs and had to use my 401K to pay rent, and if I ran out I had a plan to move. I don't know why people think they can live rent free. Quoting: Keilani DUH because they shut down the economy last year. I know MANY workaholics who couldn't work last year for months because they worked at bars and restaurants in New Orleans that were closed. They didn't do anything wrong. Even if they had a little savings NO ONE could have planned for that. It was tyrannical and not in any way predictable. nameruse username nearmuse |

I live in an extremely, severely economically depressed region. Think Detroit, but lesser-known. There are help wanted signs everywhere. Places are having to close down because they can’t find help.
