i am not sure they are so sloppy, i think they have multiple narratives going, so that each side has their talking points, 'facts', worldview and these are fractured and fragmented into such division that any objective truth or reality is impossible. then for most they can not even articulate their grievances. they are in constant shock, trying to sift misinformation, victims of confirmation bias, all while they see what they can get away with in terms of stripping rights and mandating things out of thin air.
