This means they expect air bases and major airports to be taken out or unserviceable. Highways and on ramp infrastructure provide the perfect airport/base replacement with just a few battlefield modifications.

Yes, all interstate HI ways are designed to have a long, straight section for just this eventuality. It is good that we are now training our newer generation military folks to utilize this well thought out system. Hummmm just in case.!

You can’t evacuate anyone with complete panic and gridlock, which is exactly what happens in that scenario. No one is using highways when a nuke goes off, except the more rural stretches.

This is so cool. This will be around 20 miles from my tiny home project and the best part is I'll be there for a lot of this. Another great part is we're 5 miles from the gunnery range where the A-10s and F-16s do their training.

The Northern Strike exercise is great to watch. You get your Air Force, National Guard, Army, Coast Guard all flying around blowing stuff up.

If the opportunity arises, I'll take photos and video of the shenanigans.
