Is there a way to change the name on my old Anonymous Coward posts to reflect my official GLP handle? | |

I posted several threads before I registered on GLP in 2011, as well a few many years ago back when I was too chicken to post under my user handle lol. I've used advanced search but can't find many of my old posts, even when doing a search for user ID number. Some of my old posts were kinda trippy - I'd like to re-read them. The only AC thread of mine I'm able to find is a thread about iodine that was pinned. Quoting: SLeePy NiGhT OwL I think there's no way. Only a mod or admin could do that, possibly. All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S. GLP is like a diamond mine of information, in the sense that you have to shovel mountains of crap to find the diamonds, but it's still worth the pain. |

If you know the User ID, then you should be able to find them. I can find AC threads all the way back to 2004 using the Adv. Search > Search User ID The User ID is based on your IP address I believe. So as long as you didn't use a proxy or change internet providers during that time, then you should be able to find them if you know the older ID. Maybe you have some screenshots of the old threads, where you could get the ID from? Otherwise, you'd have to remember some unique words in your posts and search by Messages Body, with "No. of Results" set to 500, to find the threads. Try filtering them by date range to reduce the amount of results that come up too. Last Edited by Neuromute on 10/04/2021 06:53 PM |

You could start a new thread with links to all your old posts. Quoting: Neuromute If you know the User ID, then you should be able to find them.
