Yet they filled venues with people who often drove hours to see them perform.

How about your band?

Pissed that I never saw them play live. My own fault, really. They toured a ton. I took the band for granted.

Dying peacefully in your sleep is the new trend among celebrities. Much like hanging yourself on a doorknob was a couple of years ago.

These people are always following the latest trends.
 Quoting: The Lazy Monk

I have always wondered about that. Like is it really ‘peaceful’ and are you really ‘asleep’?

Like what if you are awake? Either fully or simply fully conscious and unable to move? It sounds like a terrifying and incredibly lonely way to die. Not at all ‘peaceful.’

I hope that’s not the case, but it could be.
 Quoting: Larphillips

To be serious for a moment, dying is blissful.

There can of course be some pain or discomfort before you actually die (depending on what you die from), but as soon as you die, you feel better than you ever felt in your life.

Throwing off your physical shell feels amazing. It's like taking of a wet and dirty coat that smells like ass that you have worn so long you forgot how it feels to not have it on.

Your natural state is pure spirit. Wearing a body is just a temporary experience.

I know these things from experience, and many many others have experienced the same thing. Not permanent death, obviously, but getting real damn close. Edging it, then pulling back just before it's too late.

The members of ZZ Top, Billy, and Frank, would like to share that Dusty, their fearless Bass player, is on a short detour back to Texas, to address a hip issue. They await a speedy recovery and have him back pronto. Per Dusty’s request “The show must go on!”. With that directive, ZZ Top has put the services of Mr. Elwood Francis, their trusted guitar tech of the past two decades, into play with his slide guitar, bass guitar and harmonica playing in full swing. “And with Elwood to our right...

Re: Dusty Hill, bass player and founding member of ZZ Top dead
My boyfriend and I used to go to Landry's seafood restaurant in early 90s in west part of Houston (Houston had really good restaurants back then).

One time at the next table over was Dusty Hill and Frank Beard and what looked like their women and children. People kept coming up to them and saying things like "I saw you guys at the (some) concert!" Or they would say "You guys are great!", some came up to ask for autographs. I thought to myself they don't get much peace looks like when they go out in public...they were nice about it though.

They did a song Mexican Blackbird a long time ago, I thought it was on their 1976 album Tejas. I just did a quick search and didn't find it listed. I wonder if it has been deemed racist and sexist and white supremacist so they had to disappear it, I will look into that more.

I wonder too if he got the shot. I used to hear they drank a lot though, and when I saw those guys at Landry's the table was practically covered with lots of hard liquor drinks sitting on it along with their food.

Edit: Ok I looked again and found it was on the 1975 Fandango! album. I had forgotten about that one. Now though it's being claimed the lyrics were about black tar heroin, though if you read the lyrics it sounds straight forward that it's about a half Mexican half black prostitute in boystown area of Mexico.
