Quoting: Wayne Gabler Let's go with something minor, they could write his 6 week recovery into the show, play it like he was mugged or a hit and run (windfall for a broke Lawyer) The selfish part of me is bummed that the show will be further delayed (or might not wrap at all). I enjoy it. That's what happens when you delay production for YEARS. Actors start to die. I always thought it would be Johnathan Banks who died of old age before the show finished. A key Peaky Blinders actress died during the stoppage too. Oh well - if producers slack off for too long, they don't get to tell their story at all. Basic cause and effect. She had cancer for years and was only in her early 50s. If you remember season 3 or 4 she had really short hair.. was getting treatment. And even with their main actors dying of cancer, they can't be bothered to make more than one season every several years. Do they really care so little about the story they want to tell? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80669527 I wonder how those "woke" Hispanics feel about him and his shows portraying Hispanics as all being drug dealing, murdering psychopaths ? Albuquerque has really gone all in on declaring itself the meth capital of the world. They take a lot of pride in it for some reason. Gotta be good at something, I guess. Also, they probably get lots and LOTS of that tasty federal money to help ‘fight the scourge.’ Other than film, Albuquerque's entire economy depends on federal funding from the labs, air force bases and schools ever since they drove away all of the private sector companies. NM did pretty well in oil until Biden gutted that. I thought Albuquerque had lots of tech companies -- "chip" manufacturers and such or they did in the 90s anyway did they all go to Chyna ? |

There is an Intel plant in Rio Rancho, but it lost the upgrade bid several years ago and is now only manufacturing obsolete technology. It will be gone when the demand for those chips disappears Honeywell and Raytheon bailed on ABQ a few years ago. The city desperately courted Amazon, but that didn't come through. TransCore is pretty much the only private sector tech company left in the city with revenue worth mentioning. Other than that, the Tempur-Pedic and General Mills plants are just about all that's left. Other than that, all of the tech companies survive off of contracts from Sandia, LANL, WSMR or AFRL. All federally funded. Last Edited by Depluribus Unum on 07/28/2021 01:39 PM From many, covfefe |

Stopped for the night in NM. If I wasn’t in the Rez, I was adjacent. Woke up the next morning to find ALL of my gasoline siphoned from my rental truck. That’s the extent of my NM stories, but almost 25 years later, the memory lingers. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

I guess that either means it’s relatively minor and easily treated there… …or it’s SO bad, it would be a danger to move him. Healthcare professionals, what would be your read on this. As a celebrity who makes his home in the Los Angeles area, he would certainly have the resources and influence to be transferred back to LA and under the care of his own doctor. Since there is NOTHING else to go on, read the tea leaves. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80671064 What happens to those shows where the lead passes away? In this case, I think it grinds to a complete halt. They could do massive rewrites and salvage what they can from footage already shot, but this show complicates that by covering both pre and post Breaking Bad. I don’t know if there are any clever ways to do anything if he’s passed or severely debilitated. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78919005 United States 07/28/2021 08:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A statement from Odenkirk’s team noted that the 58 year-old actor is recovering, reading: “We can confirm Bob is in stable condition after experiencing a heart-related incident. He and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew and producers who have stayed by his side. The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery.” Better Call Saul is about halfway through production on its sixth and final season. Odenkirk made a splash on movie screens earlier this year with Nobody, which grossed $57.2 million worldwide against a $16 million budget in February before theaters began opening back up in earnest. Production on Better Call Saul was halted on Wednesday with everyone involved focused on Odenkirk’s health, and it is not yet known when the show will pick back up. |

And Mike will be playing with a cap gun and looking for his teeth. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68359318 this started in early 2015 ... so has been a while waiting Yeah, they waited too long to even get started. This thing should of cranked up day 1 after Breaking Bad ended. And considering the age of Odenkirk, and especially, Mike, they should have delivered this series on a bullet train. I like BCS, but there is a LOT of filler. They should of cut the fat, and delivered us 4 or 5 seasons of 13 episodes each. Remember? That's how it used to be. Like Sopranos--13 episodes a season. People just got lazy. Why wait another year and a half, two years or so, to get a cast all assembled again, especially if they're rapidly ageing? I hope Bob recovers quickly and they can finish this thing, but damn, they really needed to expedite this series from the beginning. Oh well. Too bad. |
