It locks you into the hive mind, which of course is run by the god of this world, satan. Maybe it does change your genetic make-up, leaving you no longer in the image of God. Therefore the Holy Spirit leaves, because you are no longer human and Jesus didn't come to save hybrids. The hybrids of old, nephilim, were not accepted into heaven either.
