In that case it was small pox..." "The legal precedent for mandatory vaccinations dates back to a 1905 Supreme Court case after a smallpox outbreak in Massachusetts." What resulted from that ruling was compulsory inoculation of the populous. Most everyone born before 1970 has the 'Mark' of that vac on their left arm to this day. Yes, the mandatory small pox vac left a mark. And there were people who actually put a drop of acid on their arm, or even put a cigar out on their shoulder to fool those checking for inoculated citizens. Yeah, there was a time when you could not go into the grocery store without showing them your 'shoulder pass' it is history. There are a few I'm sure we're both members of. Thank you, I try. Yes, I am active in several groups - we probably do know each other. I'm not originally from NH. I was a military brat and AD military - I went wherever the military sent me. I learned to adapt and assimilate to whatever state and country I was assigned to. When I got out of the military - I finally had a chance to pick any state I wanted to live in. I researched and found NH was the best fit. I know many lifelong NH citizens don't take to outsiders and, not only am I ok with that - I like that about the people here. They have a great state and they want to preserve this wonderful way of life. Just like any new place I moved to (whether it was Europe or the Middle East) - once I learned their culture, their history and respected their way of life - I was accepted into the community. Trust has to be earned and I can understand why people are distrustful of newcomers - especially when they come here and want to change their way of life. |

In fact, during the brief mask mandate here in NH, quite a few places did not enforce it. In my small town, you could easily walk into your local farmer market without a mask and see others without them either. We still have general stores here in NH and a ton of farms, farmer markets, independently owned small businesses. Those are the businesses I go to. In the 10 years I've lived here, I've only ever stepped foot in a Walmart twice and one of those times was with a friend who was buying something there. New Hampshire for the win!
