It's like I'm super sensitive in that part of my back. It's also like when you see someone fall on concrete or you think they might and you get a wave of tingling shoot down through your legs and knees. |

Do you think the nerve damage in my shoulder and the damage in my lung could be increasing it? It could make the area more sensitive for sure. Have you ever had anyone run their fingers through your hair and it gave you that uncontrollable full body shiver? That's ASMR as I understand it. I'm not expert though. I do experience it especially with music and emotion. It feels like a wave a goosebumps but it also really pleasant. Not painful. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

It is more effective when someone else does it, yes and stops working after a few times. I've had pneumonia at least twice as well but haven't noticed any skin sensitivity in that regard. It would more likely be the nerve damage to your shoulder. It's the nerves that make the tingle. If it prickles especially. ASMR feels pleasant. Not bad tingly. (OP) User ID: 80603608 United States 07/21/2021 07:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One time when I was dealing with a bout of pneumonia, this guy I worked for put his hand on my shoulder and offered a prayer. He was a strong Christian and his kind act sent waves of electricity through my back. It was completely unexpected. It's a much stronger sensation if someone makes direct contact with my shoulders. |

It like an empathy response for feeling happy with/for other people. It's shared and triggered from empathy. I easily tear up and wonder if that is part of the reason it gets triggered in that manner. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

I can feel it..in my groin area. It is bizarre and happens every time. I've attempted to research it and found a few odd threads here and there over the years, of people getting the 'groin response' to fall/slip videos. Sometimes my hands will instantly sweat as well. I can't/won't watch videos where people/animals get hurt. I learned the hard way that what is seen, can't be unseen. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79548965 Switzerland 07/21/2021 07:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've had pneumonia twice and I've suffered from lung issues all my life. I know I've got some scar tissue in my right lung near the back. Quoting: Hot Dog Harry What's strange is that I'll get these really strong goosebump feelings from my shoulders down to that area in my back. They are especially strong if someone unexpectedly touches my shoulder. Also, what's really weird is if someone acts in an unexpected way, like whistling while they shop or just in an unusual manner, It will get those nerve feelings tingling in my shoulders and back. An attractive housekeeper I used to work with walked up behind me when I was sitting down and rubbed my shoulders for a few seconds. That was years ago but the intense shoulder tingling comes back when I think about it. I also did some nerve damage to my right shoulder when I worked in a warehouse. Anyone know why that area of my body is so sensitive to these goose bump feelings? Is it a known condition, anyone else familiar with it? Mental illness. You sick. |
