Ah! Yep! That might have been where I was remembering it from.

There's a song about the little drummer boy but I don't think it's scriptural.

That explains why I couldn't hunt it down in the bible.

matt 2 does not say how many wise men

7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

No 3 kings either. That was just a christmas song.

The wise men from the East brought a bunch of gold but I don't see any evidence in the Bible that Jesus had any money. What's up with that?

It doesn't say 3 wise men. 3 gifts are mentioned, not 3 men. No boy mentioned, except that Yeshua, himself would have been a young boy about 2-3 years old when they show up.

They were humble which is why they were chosen, speaking of Joseph and Mary

The star was a big deal back then and was memorialized in the coinage of the area.

That seems to be where the star and moon symbol got its origins, later to become the symbol of Islam.

probably there were a few and they traveled in a small force w possibly hundreds of troops...they were Levites from Parthia, a fierce kingdom in Persia even the Romans could not defeat... otherwise Herod--not known to be a great guy--would have had them arrested and tortured for the truth...

as for the boy...don't remember a boy...there were shepherds...some could have been young

no other gifts are spoken of other than gold, frankincense and myrrh... which is where the notion of 3 dudes all by themselves comes from

maybe there were only 3 wise men--possibly from the lost tribe of Levi, taken into Babylon hundreds of years prior...awaiting the coming King...sent to anoint the Christ
