Moving near St. Louis. MO side
Moving from upper midwest. How are the jobs? Anything I could use to get decent employment before the rest of the country realizes they need to go back to work?

Honest questions. Ive got solid work history but im trying to compensate for a lower wage since im pretty sure its a lower average across the board in missouri.

I don't think the gateway arches, I mean under them the biggest cavern ever, i mean madrid goes off I'd rather be on the west side so you don't get caught up in a river down by the water-roadway spilling from the great lakes to gulf, then. SO think clearly about your future. I don't think east of MO is good in truth. But nowhere will matter in the end.

You're insane for moving anywhere near St. Louis. It has one of the highest murder rates in the nation...if not THE highest. Better places to live and work.

Just within 50 miles. I don't plan on going to the city. Just need to be in daily travel distance of the west side

I’d rather be on the KC side. And the traffic, holy hell, might as well be in Atlanta or Chicago. I was working there last week and I can say it’s a good thing my truck doesn’t have rocket launchers!

I live 50 Miles west of St. Louis and rarely go to the city. It has changed quite a bit in the last 20 years. Go to St. Charles County or further west and it is a great place to live. Housing costs are rising but still among the lowest in the country and jobs are plenty. Wages are good depending on the type of work you are looking for and your qualifications.

Wife getting a job in wentzville so im just trying to keep it reasonable for her.

I personally come from manufacturing/ fabrication. Got a couple years as supervisor. Is there a better place to find jobs down there? Google doesnt return much worthwhile. Ill do a temp agency but id rather not start completely over.

Wentzville is a fantastic place to live. Although, it is growing rapidly. A few miles away from Wentzville in O'Fallon MO is a company called True Manufacturing. They are a large employer in the area and might be right up your alley. They are usually always hiring. Also, you could also try to get on at the GM plant in Wentzville as well.

Every factory in Franklin county is hiring. Rent is skyrocketing so expect to pay 1,000 for a 3bd. I work in St Louis as a foreman. Trust me, work is available.

Is construction worth considering with next to zero experience? Rent being 1k is similar to where im at, but average wage is about 20 entry in a decent manufacturing company

No problem. Good luck and I think you will like the Wentzville area if that is where you are going to settle. Great schools and community. I have never worked or known anyone that has worked at True but just heard a lot about them. You could also contact Wentzville City Hall for a list of Manufacturing places. The mayor is a really nice guy and I would not be surprised if he got on the phone with you. Really down to earth. They also have an active facebook page that you could post to as well or the Wentzville BST sites. I know a lot of people that work at the GM plant. They have been down a lot because of the chip shortage so it may take a while to get on there. Here is the link to the True MFG available jobs:

E-trailer in Wentzville is always hiring as well, they are right across the road from the GM Plant. They are starting off around $18-20 an hour right now, and if you can drive a reach truck, you probably won't have any problem getting hired there.

OP. Make sure you look into environmental black mold. They call the area, "America's breadbasket" but it should be called America's mold basket. (Outside Air quality) Lived in Mo for 7 years. If you have allergies then watch out. If you don't, you just might when you move there.

Research is your best friend. Good luck!

Edit: I seen the mold count high as 80,000ppm.

Spirituality is the opposite of religion, religion is a substitute for spirituality. Spirituality is a direct connection to Creator The Most high.

I live in St. Charles County. It is a good area to live but housing is very expensive compared to all other areas in Missouri. I think you will love the Wentzville area. They are growing very fast. We do have a problem with crime coming out from the city to steal cars and stuff out of cars. Used to be so safe.
