When do you think Elon's going to do it? Not sure if he is. Orbital flight is a whole different ballgame and he has a very long term goal for SpaceX that probably won't be maintained if he's not around to oversee it. Inspiration4 will be launching 4 space tourists to orbit on a Dragon capsule as soon as September. It will be something to see, the first time a mission composed entirely of civilian amateurs has gone to orbit by themselves. Hopefully I can track them in orbit with my scope at some point. Now THAT sounds amazing. Dont get me wrong this was cool too. But that sounds even better. |

Quoting: BananaFighter So you can shoot people straight up 60-70 miles and they can come straight down. There's no practical application for this. Also, if we supposedly sent someone to the moon then this is nothing. It's like we invented the car and got super excited to watch someone ride a bike. Baby steps. Human space flight is in its initial baby steps. Baby steps? Weren't we told by NASA that they sent someone to the moon in the 60's? Correct me if I'm wrong but this would be considered baby steps if it came BEFORE sending people to the moon. NASA says they sent remote control cars and helicopters to mars. They say they have pictures of Jupiter. They say people have lived in space for a year or more on the ISS and yet THIS is exciting? Good on ya. Amazing that people who are allegedly intelligent still believe in the spinning ball. Ahem. ahum https://twitter.com/_/status/935644892721762305 Funny, but honestly most flat earthers regard the "flat earth society" as a shill organization. Lots of them think that Mars is just a light in the sky and you can't see any detail if you zoom in on it. That's what a ton of them actually believe, they think images and videos from telescopes like mine are all fake CGI. Sadly, that trash video of a completely out of focus Mars through a crappy P1000 camera has more views than any of my Mars videos which are far superior in quality. Seems that makes them push the lie harder. They suck. It's really going to suck for you when more and more people start flying on this thing and bringing back footage from the flight. They've been saying what will happen in a few years, for a long time. Unfortunately, "a few years" never gets here... 352,000 ft.? 66.6666... miles? That's interesting. VERY interesting. Their apogee counter said 351,210 feet. That's 438 feet away from EXACTLY 66.6 miles high. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure... |

Also the launch was on Eid al-Adha the Islamic festival celebrating the binding of Isaac. Oliver Daemen, 18, the youngest crew member, was gifted the trip by his Billionaire father. I wonder what ram Somerset Capital will sacrifice? I wouldn’t be surprise if Jeff will be a beneficiary of that sacrifice as Distribution centers are a huge part of Somerset’s portfolio. I'll say a seat on this 'New Shepard' probably goes Wh for $350,000 as it is higher and faster. Flight duration 12 minutes. Gets you 29,000+ the minute of flight (unless i miscalculated). Who do you think will be on the first fully paid flight for both machines? I came. I saw. I Concorde. For once you have tasted Concorde you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.
