Me shilling Reaper in this thread is relevant, because Reaper pays a passive income drip payment in XRP simply for holding RPR in XUMM wallet. Always in your custody yet you get the passive income directly to your wallet, proportional to your Reaper holdings.

Yup over 2 years for me too. I have never sold any although I have swapped a just a little bit for some XRPL projects - only one that ever did anything was Reaper.

I have set limit sell orders on the Sologenic DEX through XUMM wallet and the SOLO wallet for some relatively low price points if we get a run up.

I think I set orders for a total of 10% of my XRP bag.

Goal would be to use that amount, if it happened, to fix some immediate issues in my life & pay my bills & survive til next spring.

Morning everyone on this great thread. Thanks for everyone who posts and keeps this thread going.

Thanks pool that's sweet rose

I'm so glad you're persevering with this thread rose

We're going to be okay but this is definitely a rough patch.

The other night I cashed out some crypto to fiat for the very first time.

I had never done that before, but XLM went up a couple of cents on the New Moon pump and I couldn't bear to watch the portfolio value go back down again without taking a little bit off the top.

I wouldn't have done it but I needed it to pay this month's bills! I can't believe I made it this long without having to do this.

Anyway I sent XLM to Coinbase, sold it for USD, and sent the USD to my bank account.

They said it won't get there til August 3, I haven't checked to see if it happened to get there faster for whatever reason.

It was worth doing just to test the process.

I was really looking forward to being able to cash out XLM through the MoneyGram integration with Lobstr, but there's a guy on Youtube, Mr. Stellar Moon Man I think his name is, and he did very diligent and dedicated attempts to perform that transaction, cashing out of crypto at a moneygram counter to physical cash, which is supposed to be able to work, but he tried a dozen times and a dozen different locations and only got it to work once as far as I know. He was pretty frustrated about that and not too happy about it. We'll see if they fix it.

Don't know if anyone has tried the opposite, onboarding physical cash to USDC into Lobstr, that would also be extremely useful if it would work.

A lot of FUD in here today. Just dropped by to see the reaction to the run up in the last couple of hours. Lots of interesting things to think about out there. Like where is all this OTC XRP coming from the last couple of years? Also, I don’t think XRP will be available via retail exchanges once this lawsuit is settled. Hope I’m wrong but I’m set either way.

Not sure why anybody would sell this far down. I mean, I understand if you’ve got bills and whatnot but selling this low isn’t even an option for me. Ima hodl till there’s at least 3 figures in front of the decimal on the XRP price.

If XRP is declared a security and banned from exchanges, then expect aggro buyback/seizure....however the world is your oyster, as is a cold wallet. That would truly level the playing field without a shot fired.

People were talking about what good they wanted to do in the world with their XRP riches, I have a lot of ideas but one aspect of it is echoed here

a line from Sixto Rodriguez

"Cause how many times
can you wake up in this comic book
and plant flowers"

rainrose

Oh now I'm so glad I went looking for that because someone made this clip from the documentary with "Cause" for the soundtrack and it's my favorite footage in that whole film (Searching for Sugarman) the winter street footage of Detroit, because it looks so much like home, gets me every time

Plus the song is so beautiful

"Cause my heart's become a crooked hotel
full of rumors"

The reason I'm grateful for his presence in this thread is because when he's around I feel like my IQ goes up about 25 points. And then because I'm smarter when he's around, I can see & express things that I can't ordinarily. Not just about crypto or the world situation, but about what exact song that I haven't heard in years would make me cry right now.

Intuition multiplier, no clue why, probably some astrology thing, who knows. mercury/neptune aspects probably?

I've been on GLP for many many years, we are friends on GLP.

In the meantime the horses are running at Saratoga

I'm so pleased that the live coverage is so easy to access

People like to dream about where they'll be when money is no object so to speak

A season at Saratoga would be a good place to start for me

I remember Dick Francis said something along the lines of

"I've spent my lifetime watching the horses walk by"

Edit to add:
I didn't mean to sound defensive when I wrote the below, I'm not, I really only meant to say that the more I feel ownership and control over my holdings, and the more I take responsibility for my decisions, the better my decisions are. So I exercised that. My crypto holdings are my own resources to deploy as I see fit.

Was only wanting to illustrate that concept. I've done best when I took that attitude instead of going with the crowd.

If you were responding to what I posted above about cashing out some XLM to pay my bills for the month, yeah, it was the first time I ever cashed out crypto since March 2020.

I've put every dime into crypto and then some, I haven't been anywhere or done anything fun at all, with very few exceptions, mostly because of avoiding masked retards, but also because I didn't want to spend any money.

It's my own money, like money in the bank, only it's in the form of crypto.

If I cashed out some XLM at .12 I can say it was stuff I bought at the beginning at .05 and I more than doubled my money.

I was a fool not to take profits before but I didn't need the money at the time so I never gave it much thought.

I've learned better now.

I was up however many thousand dollars in the portfolio in the span of a couple of days and I couldn't face watching that evaporate again.

I have had no income since I left my job of 10 years under duress last October.

I can't believe I've made it this far!

It's been ugly. I'm super glad I cashed out a few hundred dollars to take the stress levels down a little.

I've never been underwater on my overall portfolio, knock wood.

I'm still up thousands over my original investment, I guess that's due to some very strategic trades I made along the way. I have not lost the value of those trades.

You say "How can people cash out at these low prices" I say, "Many people are saying we'll go lower" and I couldn't stomach it. I need the money, it was a very small percentage of the overall total crypto holdings (although a bigger chunk of XLM than I might have wanted to part with, but c'est la vie at least it was there when I needed it, right?
