Re: The XRP Investor Thread
Great work VisionThing!

Lots of good stuff there.

The weirdest thing about all of this is the fact that two completely opposite but totally plausible scenarios could unfold from all of this. When you start connecting dots, it looks a lot like we're hurtling towards a 1984 dystopian tech surveillance nightmare. But quantum tech and blockchains are so profoundly revolutionary and GOOD in every sense that it's hard to be doomy about it. No more corruption, total transparency in the markets and economy, ESPECIALLY BTWN GOVERNMENTS. Cheaper, faster, easier to pay each other, independently of governments or banks.

Theil's grandparents were probably nazis. Elon's probably too, IDK. The fact that Theil and Musk are involved with Ripple is insane enough. In my opinion, Palantir is project looking glass, or quantum tech. Starlink is free internet (a public utility given out for FREE? UNHEARD OF!) and Space Force exists to protect Starlink and Palantir. Starlink/Palantir is crucial to protecting the blockchains from internet outages and hacks.

The only power the evil ones have is the control of the movement and creation of money, and control of information.

As soon as you offer humanity alternatives outside of their control, the whole power structure begins unraveling. You're already watching the beginning. The news orgs and the Biden Admin are looking more and more like bumbling idiots, because they can't stop the onslaught of anons spreading the truth.

I'm obviously just spitballing here, but it *feels* right to me. I ain't scared, I'm hopeful!
 Quoting: BLACK GHOST

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

Right now it looks like all this new technology is being folded right into the old systems of control.

But it seems to me that the power that propped up the old systems was the power of being the middleman to every transaction.

At the day to day transaction level so much is hidden from the participant. Unless you are the business owner or manager you don't see the fees the business pays every month for accepting credit and debit cards. It can be a huge bill every month, really hard on the small business, and a drain on any enterprise.

Why there is a third party to every transaction, a third party who gets a cut, is something we turn a blind eye to and never question.

But it's a parasite relationship.

Horrible example is remittance payments - taking big fees from low level working people sending money internationally to their families in poor countries.

The thing is, those parasites can say, oh, good, blockchain, we'll just employ that for more efficiency and keep charging the same fees - but anyone who has sent digital assets knows that the ability to do that without a middleman, is going to blow those old systems out of the water.

And of course it goes all the way up the line, to the big banks, paying fees and interest for moving exchanging and insuring value.

And that's just examples of a parasite relationship in payments -

What about in information exchange, news, art, communication in general

The word "disruptive" gets used a lot in talking about new technologies.

I don't know much about new domains on the blockchain, I own some nice ones from Unstoppable that I could build on, based on interests and pursuits of mine.

But that will change everything too, in ways I'm not clear about - censorship won't be able to be practiced the way it is now.

In the past when I tried to explain what digital assets could do, to people who didn't know anything about it, I would use humanitarian examples.

Like if some people in a poor village in Africa wanted to build a well, and they needed 3,000 dollars.

If they had an effective way to get the word out online, digital assets would make it possible for people to send very small donations - a dime or a quarter.

You can't do that now, but crypto makes it possible.

It used to be kind of a joke to say "If 3,000 people gave me a dollar . . . "

But it could happen, easily, with crypto, on a vetted platform, and people could just click a button and "move value as easily as information moves today" as Ripple says. One click to donate or tip anyone.

That has HUGE humanitarian potential.

and there's another dreadful middleman to cut out - the big charities that get gigantic massive donations and you get the feeling that the people in need never see a penny of that money.

Hey all,

Bought some HBAR and want to get into some XLM but I am on Uphold. Got a nano coming and have a question. At least I'll be able to move my beloved XRP to the nano from Uphold.

1) What wallet should I add to move the HBAR to in order to get it onto the nano?

2) Who should I buy XLM through to be able to do the same?

Ledger?

Thank you!

Howdy Samguy,

It was a little annoying for me to move the XRP I had on Uphold to a Ledger device, mostly because I had to install the Uphold mobile app to do it as the functionality wasn't showing up on their browser based UI. It worked fine once I figured it out. :)

Not sure about the XLM question, could you not also purchase XLM via Uphold as well?

I mostly use Coinbase to on-ramp fiat to Crypto and almost always use XLM to transfer off exchange. They aren't without their occasional issues, but in my experience, they are better than most. Kucoin is also trustworthy, but thier interface is a bit odd (in my opinion, of course) and bringing in fiat can be a challenge.

It is true that you cannot move XLM off Uphold, how frustrating.

Good job moving your XRP off Uphold. If you have any issues doing that ask. I found sending XRP off Uphold to be very challenging, they have it set up on purpose to make it hard for you to figure out.

I never tried it in the app, maybe it's much easier, that could be, I only used the desktop version of Uphold.

With everything I'm hearing about Coinbase I was hoping to stay away from it.

I know my buddy who bought some XRP for me from his account has no problem getting his XRP to his nano. Not sure if he goes through mobile or desktop when he does. My 1st round is available now to get from his XRP to my nano when it arrives, the 2nd round he bought for me has some more time to go before it hits 65 days. I since got more myself after opening my own account on Uphold. Since he suggested Uphold, I signed up there. Lot to be said for having someone help you in real life, plus he is a good friend!

I now know there are better options having only recently gotten into other tokens I would like to hold, algo is another and don't know for certain but think that is a pain to move off Uphold as well. Most interested in getting a little XLM first. Course hoping for neighborhood of .20 or so XRP, def would get more!

I need to set aside some time and do some schooling. I will look at your page again that you did, thank you again for giving back to us newbs. :) Tbh, I just wanted to accumulate some coin first and foremost and haven't given the time to educate myself on next steps since all I can do so far is wait to get them off.

Have gotten into Kevin Cage on YT, saw tonight he has a series of tutorial vids along with the analytic vids he posts. Here is the playlist link if you want to check him out. It was his remarking on HBAR that got me buying some fwiw.

You sound like you're doing great with all this! And I agree, it was a good priority to just get some XRP the most expedient way possible. Now you have it you can figure out what your choices are for dealing with it. I don't have a nano so I can't give you advice about sending to it, but someone here surely can.

Coinbase is okay. If you buy with a debit card you can send it off right away, 200.00 a day or something. I've been on there so long I think they are more lax with me, I have higher limits and can send right away even with a bank account purchase.

You just wouldn't want to leave a substantial amount of your holdings there, most people are working on getting all their stuff off exchanges and into self-custody wallets of one kind or another.

You might make a XUMM wallet on your phone to keep some XRP in so it's handy to send or swap if you want to. You can cash out to USDC in XUMM I'm pretty sure, if you add USD/USDC as a token, then if we get a run up and you want to secure profits instead of watching it go back down again, you could swap a portion of your holdings to a stable coin.

So I had a BIG "duh" moment yesterday morning

You know the "King" figure in the bearable guy riddle pictures?

Well here's the DUH

When the Queen goes, we'll have a King

The public doesn't know what the plan of succession is

But it's going to be controversial no matter what happens,

And I'm wondering if the Commonwealth might break up?

It doesn't matter what we think about the Queen or about monarchy

Her reign is a historical period - "The Reign of Queen Elizabeth II"

She's been Queen for my entire life. She's the only thing that's stayed the same.

Everything else has changed, but the Queen is still the Queen.

Surely a new King is a historical marker in time, if nothing else.

And that's what we're always looking for in the riddles right?

Markers in time?

Never forget the power of the individual to control the narrative. To influence the movement of time to an accumulation of his liking. Who is the king?

He who can influence the world like no other.
My father would respond to my query about an idea, a movement, a "discovery" as legit only in so far as the force of personality behind these things.

So in so far as we the XRP investors are concerned who is the man? Garlinghouse, Schwartz, Gensler....Saylor ehhh lol, Keiser ha ha, Novogratz GTFOH. Let's be serious. Musk, Thiel, LaGarde....McCaleb hmmmm, someone unknown or not regarded. Never underestimate the power of one.

Re: The XRP Investor Thread

That's a good point about an idea needing a forceful committed personality to embody it and convey it and carry it through.
