Your life may depend on this! Those who got fired never challenged it in court. If they did, they would have won. The courts would be in a dilemma, because of they refused to recognize a religious exemption, then there is a certain religious group who claims religious exemption for many things solely on their saying that they are a member of this "religious group." They never attend the "religious meetings" in thier "religious building" or ever read their "religious book" that was written thousands of years ago, part of it on stone tablets, etc. All they need do it's state that they are off this "religious group." Yes, the courts would be in a very difficult position, many of whom the judges themselves are members of this "religious group." |
