HUGE mistake on the part of the airline going to an airport where everybody else knew the tower would be closed at the time they arrived. Being an airline there was probably something in either the Federal Regulations or in their Airline Operating Manual (or insurance policies) that would only allow them to operate out of or into a "Controlled" field ... thus the pilots were trapped once they arrived and the tower was closed. Screw Ups happen in any business ... but this is really a head scratcher one since it was so dumb and so preventable. |

I'm thinking the mess up was at the control tower...maybe? It's all fun & games until the Dogman stands up Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy Shit! What a ride!" In times of trouble, I ask myself, "What would Sarah Conner do?" |

Everyday I see something that reminds me of what a bunch of funny human beans we are, some of us with too much time on our hands. You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. -Buckminster Fuller ...I adapt to the unknown, under wandering stars I've grown, by myself, but not alone... Lets look at the A380 planes fuel: Fuel capacity: 253,983 kg (559,937 lb), 323,546 litres (85,472 US gal) How do they fill up a plane after its landed quick enough ready for the next take off? I can only assume that they always only use half a tank. I thought to myself they must use really fast pumps from the fuel tankers, but then thought to myself the pressure can't be too high becuase they wouldn't want to damage the wings etc? The weight of the fuel capacity, seriously? Flight really blows my mind! I think something is a foot here! Like these jet engines once in the air, don't need the fuel they say they need and the air intake speed/pressure is enough to continue turning the turnbines? I dunno, no expert at all in this field, just find the volume of that fuel pretty mental! |
