I'm streaming war of the world's TV series no issues here. Yet

Usually video doesn't go down when ordering/product pages do. I like that show so far as well.

Every time I click on a product it gives me the red box that says:

This just suddenly spiked at ten, is that normal for Amazon? Has this happened before at Amazon? I mean these are people that literally sell web service platform AWS.... we in big trouble if they get hacked.
 Quoting: Keilani

A handful of times. Aws has gone down too.

Reading through comments on Down Detector and someone called Amazon and they told them to give them two hours to fix, LOL< wow, how much revenue are they losing on this?

2 hours would be tens of millions. That person lied obviously. Amazon would never give an ETA. But it went down for less than an hour once around 2014 and it was millions.

I think when things are working normally again I'm going to be changing my Amazon password, just to be safe. There's no telling what is going on when a site is having issues and we will likely never know for sure.

Did they get hacked? It's still doing that. I can't look at any products without getting that warning box. Everything else on my computer works, so not my computer.

Yeah, I thought it was weird that they got any ETA, maybe the CS rep was going against the rules and talking out of his arse to be a big shot or just get her off the phone though.

Re: Amazon acting crazy tonight, what's up?
A few sources I found online indicate that Amazon brings in about $800k per minute. It's been down for a little over an hour now, so that's about $48 million lost so far assuming those buyers don't just wait and buy their products later tonight or tomorrow instead (which most probably will).

That's actually a pretty good idea. Honestly, even if it goes up today, I might wait a few days until I order again.

Wow, that's some crazy cash. A lot of people might buy later, but corporate wise they're still going to look at it as a loss, because people like me are just going to be like, nah, didn't need it that bad anyways.

that's revenue, though.

most of that will be a delayed sale, not a loss.

their margin is something like 5%

so real loss on $48 million revenue is like $2 million.
