Moon Landings - How in the actual hell did they.... | |

Seems to me the first landing they had "the" lunar lander craft, big enough for a couple of men (yea lunar lander door too small for their giant backpacks, but that is another conversation) Quoting: MoonGod 61808181 Then, they returned, in the SAME model lunar lander and OH! - suddenly it has room for a little car too! - ZERO images of unpacking it or assembling it - you know, with those giant space suits and they are just going to slap that baby together like an Indy pit crew. Says here, the Rover was stored in Quadrant 1 [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] "Each LRV was carried to the Moon folded up in the Lunar Module's Quadrant 1 Bay. After being unpacked, each was driven an average of 30 km, without major incident. These three LRVs remain on the Moon." Yea, have a look at little Quadrant 1 (same size as Quadrant III facing the viewer of the image) - that whole car fits into that huh? [link to history.nasa.gov (secure)] Oh right, as they unload it, it unfolds and builds itself!! Hell we all knew that right [link to history.nasa.gov (secure)] [link to upload.wikimedia.org (secure)] buying that? They expect us to believe the official narrative and - at the same time - swallow a line about losing the technology to return to the moon? Pull the other one. ^This! |

Quoting: bajabetty3 Why would we? If you can come up with a compelling reason that would benefit anyone, I'm sure they would consider it. Most of the space race was nothing more than beating the Russians to it and proving to them that we could. Mission accomplished. Next? So they landed 2 men on the moon 6 times for less than 24 hours, and they know everything about the moon now? Lol What about Helium3? What about all kinds of resources that might be up there that we don’t know about? |

The shit really is made out of paper. Years ago I read the account by Jim Lovell who said it was more like a skin or film and very thin. He is fairly tall and had to fold himself up to sit on what amounted to a rowboat type seat and keep from punching through the bottom of the LM. It's just too laughable. But, the OP is spot on. They tried to sell the public on some hand-wringing about keeping their rock and soil samples to UNDER 8 lbs. Then as he notes, they send up the next one supposedly identical and it's got a car in the garage of the tarpaper shack Lander. Pathetic that every media person still pretends this is all real. All these astronauts lie about the "moon" program because they're all Intel spooks and this was positioned as a NATIONAL SECURITY project, which is why everyone around it was and is so tight lipped. They've been brainwashed into thinking it's okay to lie to the people as long as they have some big national security goal in mind. And of course, that is more destructive to the US than any outside enemy. Biggest problem in this country has always been THE SPOOKS. ^This. They are unaccountable, not beholden, with no oversight. In other words, an autocratic bureaucracy with nearly unlimited power. And yes… the Apollo astronauts were: 1) all military; 2) special circumstances regarding national security/secrecy. If they can assa.ssin.ate a sitting President in broad daylight in front of thousands, on film, and get away with it, just imagine what else they can do (and have done). |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 81661453 United States 02/03/2022 09:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Likely they had the technical skill and equipment to accomplish some probe landings with some rovers. Highly doubtful they could have landed humans and brought them back repeatedly without fatalities. Take out the life support requirements for the missions and the mass calculations make some kind sense. Even robotic missions with the hollywood hoax production on sound stages is impressive. But to take this tale at face value is not wise. Too much doesn't add up and not enough falsifiable data was collected to make it valid science taken as a whole. Anonymous Coward User ID: 81661453 United States 02/03/2022 09:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Deployment of the LRV from the LM quad 1 by the astronauts was achieved with a system of pulleys and braked reels using ropes and cloth tapes. Quoting: nssdc.gsfc.nasa.govThe rover was folded and stored in quad 1 with the underside of the chassis facing out. One astronaut would climb the egress ladder on the LM and release the rover, which would then be slowly tilted out by the second astronaut on the ground through the use of reels and tapes. As the rover was let down from the bay most of the deployment was automatic. The rear wheels folded out and locked in place and when they touched the ground the front of the rover could be unfolded, the wheels deployed, and the entire frame let down to the surface by pulleys. The rover components locked into place upon opening. Cabling, pins, and tripods would then be removed and the seats and footrests raised. After switching on all the electronics the vehicle was ready to back away from the LM. The image at right shows an earlier version of the planned deployment which does not exactly match the final sequence, note for example that the rover is facing away from the LM after deployment.
