As far as I know land areas don't have voting privileges. Those voting privileges are only given humans. So I'm not exactly sure how the county statistics are relevant. If Trump won in counties where barely anyone lives how does that equate to "winning"?

As far as I know you had a system in the late 18th and early 19th century in which only landholders had vote. But it hasn't been like that for a long time.
