In Mississippi it currently costs about $25,000/year (including what the state's costs are for administration) to keep a prisoner in a "Private Prison", which is cheaper than keeping them in a state prison (proabaly add another $5,000 - $7,000 if they do that). That is a DEAL compared to California, where the cost is $69,000+/yr /prisoner!!

PROFITS FOR PRISONS!! A true growth industry for the United States!! As the country with the highest lock up/parole rate in the world at 2.8% of the adult population, we obviously NEED to DOUBLE that rate so that the prison industry can continue it's growth curve!!

Instead of THREE Strike rule maybe we need to move to a TWO Strike rule!! Think of the PROFITS to be made!!

OH, and as for Marijuana Possession Convictions ... maybe they should visit their local State Colleges!! I bet they could get 1/2 of the students at each one on possession charges TOO!! Think of how much more money the prison industry could make if they started sending 1/2 of all of the college students to prison!!
