A little-noticed study says government orders to “shelter in place” during the COVID-19 fight did not save lives and spurred an uptick in excess deaths in some places, especially overseas.

Researchers from the RAND Corporation and the University of Southern California studied excess mortality from all causes, the virus or otherwise, in 43 countries and the 50 U.S. states that imposed shelter-in-place, or “SIP,” policies.

In short, the orders didn’t work.

Basic, common sense tells you that it does work.

The problem I see with the argument posed is that no SIP orders were ever fully recognized except in China, and they got their outbreak under control in, what, a month?

It's silly to try and argue that avoiding other people won't keep people from dying from COVID.

Just silly.

That's because they could never keep anyone home indefinitely. We are a society and many people continued to work. They caught it, gave it to their families, their families gave it to their friends and so on and so forth. I took a poll at work one day a couple of weeks back. About 70% of the people had caught it, most had very mild cases, a few were quite sick, but none were hospitalized. Let's face it, that kind of numbers wouldn't have happened if the masks and sanitizing actually worked. It is predominantly spread inside buildings among people who spend several minutes or more together. It was rarely spread outside.

All those videos of people wandering around alone in the parks with masks on, gardening in their yards with masks on, riding bikes with masks on...it really makes you wonder about the collective stupidity of people that they would fall for that BS. I mean, do they think COVID is hiding around every tree just waiting to pounce on them? The only thing dumber are the cities that required police to arrest people out-of-doors who didn't have masks on.

In any case, it is just "submission to invasive tyranny" training.

They can find the over multiplied RNA stray fragment on
fruit, goats, anything.

Based on their claims of contagiousness, they should be able
to take a tiny air sample within 6 feet of you and find
COVID if you have it.

it truly is

in all my time in hospitals, nursing homes, and a school program for severely handicapped students, I only ONCE saw a patient who needed her cerebrospinal fluid tested using the nasal route (not a spinal tap)

she was sitting at a table, very sleepy, and I noticed something dripping out of her nose, but she had no cold or flu symptoms.

they told me to hold a test tube under her nose... did it and got enough fluid to be tested. This was odd enough that I was told to hand-deliver it to the lab. Was at a major hospital.

her brain fluid was leaking out of her nose.. poor woman.
