“We fail to find that SIP policies saved lives. To the contrary, we find a positive association between SIP policies and excess deaths. We find that following the implementation of SIP policies, excess mortality increases,” the researchers said in a working paper for the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).

The increase was statistically significant in other countries in the weeks following the imposition of shelter-in-place orders. In the U.S., excess deaths rose in the weeks following the order before subsiding 20 weeks later under the orders.

The findings undercut blue states that relied on stay-at-home methods as the treatment of choice throughout the pandemic, while providing a measure of vindication for GOP leaders who said they were harmful and that constituents could protect themselves.

I'd have considered that a bit paranoid or overly cynical in the past. But in 2021?

Today's paranoia and cynicism are tomorrow's reality and intuitiveness.

That's because they could never keep anyone home indefinitely. We are a society and many people continued to work. They caught it, gave it to their families, their families gave it to their friends and so on and so forth. I took a poll at work one day a couple of weeks back. About 70% of the people had caught it, most had very mild cases, a few were quite sick, but none were hospitalized. Let's face it, that kind of numbers wouldn't have happened if the masks and sanitizing actually worked. It is predominantly spread inside buildings among people who spend several minutes or more together. It was rarely spread outside.

They only want most of us to die.

Of course the access deaths rose up once the shelter in place orders were imposed.

It happens every time.

The excess deaths are an effect of the cause not the cause of the effect.

most of the shelter in place orders came into effect after the situation was out of control.

in all the jurisdictions around the world where the populations were more obedient the cases of covid19 were very low to non existent.

there was shelter in place orders at my location along with all the other measures and most people at the start during the first wave followed them significantly and the cases vanished in less then a month.

Most of the restrictions were lifted and kids went back to school and then cases exploded up like a rocket and all the restrictions were reimplemented.

but people were less obedient and it took longer for cases to drop but then did and then when people saw this they demanded restrictions to be lifted and they were and and an even bigger spike up than the previous one happened and restrictions were reimplemented again.

It is like installing a burglar alarm after you are broken into.

Why did the RAND people release the report?

They will take heat for it.

But any of you that think it is a bullet proof vest and utilize it to avoid being shot will find out it is tissue paper.

What sucks is it probably does work to slow an infection down . THEY LIED. About the amount of deaths and infected the PCR test has a 90-97 percent false positive ! So if and when a real issue happens all the data from Covid is horse shix

that they don't have much to do with colder outdoor temps, except that those temps force people to stay indoors together more.

I asked a family member (high up in Healthcare):

Q: Why did the flu #s drop to 0?

A: Because of the masks, hand washing and distancing.


Q: But why did the Covid #s replace the flu #s?

A: Because Covid is highly contagious.


Q: If Covid is so contagious, why not test a breath or spit sample?
Why do you have to probe all the way to the brain to find it?

never heard of a cold or flu or easily spreadable virus that you had to poke a person's brain to find.

never heard of one that did not promote coughing, snotting, and sneezing at some point in its course.

never heard of a pandemic without huge losses all around you

never heard of a really bad outbreak that didn't either kill too fast to truly spread - like Marburg fever or Ebola - or become weaker as it became endemic.
