I have been rocking this vinyl for 40 years! Minus the last 6 of course. I heard one of Radiohead's latest albums on vinyl and I was pretty pissed off that I had spent money on their CD. The mixes on vinyl were 10x better. It's just a bad day, not a bad life. If you run, I will run, until my last breath. |

Quoting: My Foolish Daydream Yes, vinyl is still kicking ass! It is definitely the truest to live music. The sound is simply unbeatable. Early to mid eighties we still had vinyl but the studios were recording digitally. Mobile Fidelity specializes in getting the master tapes and staying true to analog. A good place to get high quality records. Combined with vaccum tube audio system you won't find anything better. |

It could be this Samsung soundbar with wireless surround speakers but this shit is fucking rocking! Quoting: TheGasMan II I am setting up an office/mancave and finally got to bust out the turntable and records. Started out with Zeppelin 4, then Rush Hemispheres then 2112. Now I'm jamming Van Halen. Wife is taking FIL to see his sister tomorrow and I will really get to crank it. Nothing like the sound of the turn table . |

Had to kill the speakers as the wife went to bed. I love these old classics. I would love to have a high end system to listen to these on but it just isn't practical for this small room. So I will make due with what I have. This Pioneer receiver and turntable do quite well. Pardon the mess, but I am in semi construction mode and am waiting to clean my components up upon completion. https://imgur.com/a/T3pZL6A "Every new child born brings the message that God is not yet discouraged of man." - Tagore "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle. :TGMtank: |

Moon&Stars
User ID: 79725731 United States 07/03/2021 02:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's the air in the sound. Has to do with how a lot of it was recorded. I didn't realize that until our band recorded a demo in the early 2000's. These young guys running the studio wanted to isolate us from each other. After hours of it not sounding right, I finally over ruled them - brought all of us into the same room. Every instrument was still recorded on a separate track, but the whole sound was behind it all. They were shocked at how good, how big it sounded. Nailed it on the first take. That is part of what is missing with digital. Moonstar |

For best results I recommend wetwashing prior to playback and I also use a stylus brush after each side. The analog sound has a live sound to it that digital just can't match. Even digitally recorded music can sound great when it's on vinyl. The analog vinyl playback is the most important part. I love acoustic suspension speakers with a solid state power amp with a tube preamp. Great for rocking out. |

I play it really low, volume about 1/3" from the left and it just sets a great mood for thinking no matter the music choice tbh. |

I have LP's that are over 40 years old. They were played many times each, but have been boxed for decades until last year. The wife wanted to get a new record player (wireless now), and the LP's sound as good as new. None of those had been touched for about 30 years--a hundred of them at least. You must have bought your records from China. |

I've had two already crack after just about a year and a half. :( That's when I learned about the special sleeves you can get for them. |
