OP is 100% correct!

It's coming folks.

If you are running the latest upgrade of windows 10 or even the early release of windows 11 you're fine. But you too might be locked down very soon.

This is going to be a fun ride.

'Just awakened, typing here before a morning coffee, so please pardon my grammar and spelling.

Ironically even old computers can run the latest version of Windows 10.

As this thread continued yesterday I was loading the latest current ISO of Windows 10, 21H1, on a PC twelve years old with BIOS dated 2008.

I had gone to my upstairs office earlier in the week for a network cable and wound up coming back downstairs to the den with a housing, power supply, system board, 8GB of RAM, a WiFi NIC as backup in case my wired switch fails, two 2TB and one 500GB HDDs and a video card to connect it to a smaller PC screen and the huge 4K UHD TV in the den.

This thread was my motivation to assemble that hardware into a PC to hold an offline copy of 3TB of storage we've duplicated in Microsoft and Google's clouds, here at home.

This thread has proven one can never be too protected or have too many copies of their files.

As a side note, there were more than forty different versions of Windows 10 ISO images available for download from Microsoft as I found one to download and generate a key for, which made me further realize that IT staff has at least 39 chances to install the wrong version and build of Windows 10 for their environment.

May all in the US have a grand July 4th weekend and the International posters... why not cook something awesome this weekend, on a charcoal grill that has no fear of smoking up the neighborhood with your delicious cooking!

Who am I kidding? Coffee? It's a holiday weekend and I gave myself off until Thursday, I'm going to pour a beer and probably make beef nachos for breakfast!

My glass is raised to you all, the good members and guests of GLP.

I have inside information that this is way bigger than is being reported.

I wonder if Wendy's was hit. I was starving last night and they couldn't process credit cards. Cash Only!

No offense ment OP.

Just woke up and saw your thread.

Far too many were far too complacent with computer security. It is satisfying to see them brought down a peg.

Problem is. Bill Gates programmed a fake virus into all Windows OSs.

So even your offline computers will go haywire at a certain date time.
Prepare yourself for the coming power outage!!

Kaseya is putting the number of companies affected at 1500.

That's still way low, in my opinion.

My power is still in and my bank accounts are still accessible. Hospitals still operating with no distortion to electronic charts. Credit cards are being accepted at every retailer I've been to. Nothing on MSM. What gives?

Supply chain disruption, not banking, power, purchasing...not yet anyway. It attacked software that is part of the JIT system so it will slow or prevent orders from being fulfilled.

I have seen them covering this ransomware attack briefly in MSM. The coverage seems downplayed or not a big deal at all. According to OP, this was a huge deal. It appears to be a huge deal.

Why are they downplaying this event so much? With the pipeline ransomware they acted like the world was ending and created more a crisis than it should have been.

See this thread.. Thread: Like ‘Event 201’ for Cyberwarfare: ‘Cyber Polygon’ Drill Runs on Friday

This ransomware attack may be the pretext for the 'big one'.

The MSM is downplaying it for now so people aren't onto them before they really get started, possibly.
