He was paid to do it, did it on purpose, will be killed before he can say who paid him.
 Quoting: SaintVron

Hopefully, that won't happen. I plan to write him ASAP while he's in prison so I can warn him of what he potentially will be facing while in prison, warn him of the fact that he might be "McAfee'd" by the U.S. government.

That's a wonderful thought, but in order for him to receive mail from you, you must be on his approved mailing list. Unless that's changed over the last few years.

....WHAT?? Really?!! Damn it! Well I'll write his mother first and then she can pass them to him. He needs every bit of support right now and it would be great for him to see that he not only has white supporters but that he has a black supporter - me. I support him and the police who support him 500%. I would wear "I support Derek Chauvin" on a shirt but then other crazy black people might see me, call me a sell-out and beat the crap out of me lol.

The death of George Floyd has led to the deaths of 100's if not 1,000s more black Americans than if George Floyd never tried to pay with a counterfeit bill.

Fact.

Put a white man under that car and none of that would have happened.

This is a racial justice, nothing else.

The judge claiming not being influenced by that, his full of shit.

I still can't believe he's guilty.

All of the evidence points to an overdose and not death by the knee measure.

This former officer is going to prison to appease the mob.
 Quoting: Eireann

that is because he isn't guilty of murder, he got railroaded obviously

eventually it will be overturned on appeal or pardoned by a real leader

the criminal was clearly on drugs that most obviously killed him and to throw the cop under the bus is an unimaginable mistake with severe consequences

There was some issues with the Jury. I kept up with this from the start. Many things went unnoticed, for instance it was Judge Cahill that dropped the third degree murder charge. Lots of people say he was on the Prosecution side. I thought he did the best with what he had throw at him. He ruled against the Prosecutor more than he ruled against the defense.

I think the defense will win an appeal due to tainted Jury. But will the Prosecution drop the case or retry it? We already know the answer to that. 'White Man Bad"

That's why I think Dereck Chauvin will be killed in prison.

A violent criminal was made a hero, black families were made millionaires and, as is usually the case, the white man paid for it all.

270 months = 22 years.
 Quoting: BBQ BOY™

I’m surprised. Still utterly ridiculous.

The aggravating factors are stupid. I’m sure in Minnesota you can have the school (a group of people) “teach” drag queen story hour to children, but if a cop does his job in front of children he may go to prison for an extra ten years.
 Quoting: Corporal Punishment

Yeah, one of the aggravating factors was Chauvin continued to asphyxiate him despite Floyd pleading he couldn't breathe. And that may be so, I won't rule out asphyxiation entirely although I believe it was a heart attack. But this douche bag judge overlooked the fact that Floyd began pleading before he was even on the ground, before Chauvin even touched him... heck, he PREDICTED he would stop breathing before any officer even touched him! All of that would cause ANYONE in their position to doubt the sincerity of his pleas. But the judge? Just didn't care about what happened before, like the jury. also killing before children was a joke pertaining to that aggravating factor, which is clearly not meant for people just happening upon a crime.
 Quoting: GooPile

Floyd was complained about not breathing before the police tried to put him into the car. Like most career criminals, he just runs his mouth spouting lies. That catches up with you.

There is no evidence the police asphyxiated him. I think they probably should have cuffed him and rolled him on his side towards the end. But mistakes happen. In the heat of the moment I can understand how it went down like it did.

Derek Chauvin will remain in a segregation unit at a maximum security prison post-sentencing

Chauvin is among nearly 300 convicted killers at the prison
Oak Park Heights is currently housing 341 inmates, just under 40% of whom identify as white, according to the prison's data. Of those prisoners, 276 are serving sentences for homicide.

Derek Chauvin reportedly close to reaching plea deal on civil rights charges

Multiple sources told WCCO that the former Minneapolis officer is close to the deal that would see him serving his sentence in federal prison, but at the same time as the 22½ years he already got on his state conviction for murdering Floyd in May last year.

It would include the 45-year-old former cop having to finally explain exactly what he did to Floyd and why he did it, WCCO said.
