- 13 floors total
• 12 above ground
• 1 below ground
- 158ft tall
- Residential building comprising of 136 units

You know when back east when visiting my cousins in Ill ..

My son was sick with pneumonia,so they put us on the 3rd floor i think it was pediatrician ward...besides my 2 year old sick i was afraid of the building standards as i am from california

I know that area,was in never to my knowledge had an earthquake...But being from cali...I wondered if there was an earthquake if this..That 5 story hospital would fall down in seconds..

So besides my sons sickness,i had this is mind...that this building i was in could collapse in a mere min...Fact..

Nothing happen of course,but if go anywhere i try never to stay in high rises i would only fear it would fall every time i was in one...Even here in california ..

More likely a design flaw and not have the piles driven deeply enough, plus to close to the coastline. Florida also has sinkhole issues all over the place.

This is why building on the coast is now heaviliy restricted, you shouldn't be able to have a city right on the coast like that. Can you imagine Dubai and some of the other artificaly created places, disaster just looms. One rouge wave could wipe the whole thing out.

something similar happened in a city where I grew up. 5 story building was gone, collapsed. Due to underground waters. Reportedly, it was wiggling and making weird noises few days prior the collapse.
