I think high rise buildings on coasts where they are not built over and onto the most solid rock should be examined every 10 years.

Saturated with water, limestone is not so brittle. It is brittle and it cracks when its dry and it can easily be washed out by water.

The building is very close to the beach, so this is not surprising at all.
