is human augmentaion inevitable?
to me it seems horrible, but am i looking at it wrong?

it doesn't seem natural, but is it in fact just the natural progression of humans to try to improve the quality of life in the same way hearing aids and eyeglasses were progressive?

or is it all just bad bad bad?

is there ANY possiblity that it's good?

At this moment it certainly does appear we will be heading down that path sooner than most would ever imagine.

I agree with your evaluation and readily believe it is our natural progression to do so.

Like it or not cybernetics along with human-animal chimerism is our future.

Why should someone feel they are cursed for life because their genitals are small?

Why not allow augmentation for all?

If we are going to live in a virtuous PC world no one can feel inadequate right?

Like i keep saying, last real decade of humans was 1990's.

All this transhumanism stuff, is vile.

Maybe some want it, good for them, but there should be a choice for those that do not.

Re: is human augmentaion inevitable?
Hitler was trying this with the old fashion way with his attempt to cull the genetically damaged and dumber people from being able to procreate.

Farmers and Ranchers have done this for centuries to try to improve the animals that they are raising.

What is new is the blending of ARTIFICIAL human created technology INTO the human body. And yes, it IS going to happen since governments and some people will ALWAYS WANT some sort of augmentation of the human body for one reason or another.

Governments are going to lead the way so that they can have better /higher quality Cannon Fodder material for their Endless Wars - ie: create more efficient Killers and Humanoid Killing Machines.

If the technology had existed in the 1930's to do this Hitler in particular would have been out there working as hard as he could in creating more efficient humanoid killing machines for his upcoming Wars of Conquest.

Here you go Pine Gapper.

"...And the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke the Lord; and God saw the whole earth and it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon earth, all men and all animals." (Book of Jasher 4:18)

"And they began to sin against birds, and beasts and reptiles, and fish" (Book of Enoch 7:5)

"Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." (Book of Genesis 6:9)

First, jasher and Enoch aren't even In the Bible.

Second, those verses don't say anything about gene splicing. There's no reason to think the ancient yoooooooos even knew what DNA was.

We all know how that turned out, same with the Tower of Babel.

Every time 'Humanity' gets to this point of Godlike power's to change the natural creation into Man's Build it Better than God mentality, we get thrown back into the stone age.

Will this time be any different? Like you said, "Nothing new under the sun."

Re: is human augmentaion inevitable?
We change based upon what we do. If an augmentation does it for us our ability in what it does diminishes. We diminish our legs by using cars, our environmental resistance through clothes, our strength and our skill through machines.

If you say no to an new type of augmentation you should also consider whether the augmentations you currently use should be ditched too.

You are confusing irreversible augmentation with mere convenience.

Yes, man made shoes out of animal skins to run faster and catch better game.

Man created automobiles so that he could go farther in less time.

Your argument is weak...I can remove my shoes and walk barefoot if I desire.

I can get out of my car and walk if I choose to.

Once melded with technology, Man and Machine will be inseparably connected...there will be no going back, it won't be just like taking your shoes off.

Nope. You will see shelves of products that you can self-inject: big boobs, more muscle, glow in the dark, new skin tone, grow a tail and much much more...All reversible and all interchangeable. CRISPR allows for direct manipulation of you forward, backward. Store your original DNA before tampering.
