Let me give a link for those that haven't heard of them: [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Science fiction is full of these, the most well known of them is the Jedi from Star Wars which people have turned into various actual religions. The Sith also have their devotees. My main problem is that they usually crib off some existing religion. For example, the Jedis are some kind of watered down Daoism and the Sith are generally a veiled form of Lavey's Satanism. And that's true of most Witch/Pagan/Wiccan groups that I've run across, they're almost always some mix of Gardner. And that gives me incentive to wonder why there is this universal observance of full moons, new moons, the wheel of the year. If I were any where else in the universe would it make sense to have holidays like this? Haven't hit on the answer yet but I do like the Last Supper when Jesus said "As often as you do this." Of course he was referring to having a meal, not Communion like the modern practice is. It's a lot of work to figure things out and sci-fi has been really useful for me to determine what questions I need to ask. "Yes, yes. Zathras is used to being beast of burden to other people's needs. Very sad life. Probably have very sad death. But, at least there is symmetry." |

She has been with humanity, as have Satan and Beelzebub, since the beginning. Astaroth is Satan's daughter. Quoting: This is my GLP It's actually Beelzebub's daughter. lol Wow - way to red herring and still affirm that OP (and probably you) are invoking a deity that , as the Britannica proves , ultimately comes from people who sacrificed their children alive to demons. Beelzebub IS Satan. The author of that site has taken the Gran Grimoire out of context. 'Satan' is the power head , with Lucifer on top. According to the Gran Grimoire. Unlike you , I've actually read into demonology texts. Astaroth is a very ancient Goddess. She has been with humanity, as have Satan and Beelzebub, since the beginning. Astaroth is Satan's daughter. Quoting: This is my GLP It's actually Beelzebub's daughter. lol The Gods and Deities of the old religions always become the demons of the new. No actually you have that backwards. " Christianity " is not newer than these other religions. That is confirmation bias from etymology. All things were created through the Word (Jesus) , and the Word simply was not manifest into the flesh until 2000 years ago but existed since the beginning. These 'gods' are Lucifer and the 1/3 of angels he took from Heaven. They have been disguising themselves as angels of light since ancient Sumeria , simply being rebranded , relabeled and reselling the same twisted wisdom. Because the 'divine knowledge' the devil gives , is actually a twisted version of what was given to him by God. Plagiarizing. Geez....Jehovah was the biggest pagan of all, if indeed the entity is real. Lets see.... Cannot/will not forgive, but requires a blood sacrifice of an innocent life. (What happened to the sanctity of all life?) Tells Israel to 'conquer the land' and in some cases to kill ALL the men, women and young men, but 'gives' the young virgins to the soldiers for their own purposes... Pedophile as well. Kill all the oxen and sheep too... They were evil, even though they were supposed to be created by a righteous god. Jehovah was angry, jealous, hated many humans, which he allegedly created. Visited the sins of the parents onto the innocent children. That sounds fair. Allegedly destroyed the whole earth with a flood, because he was sorry that he made man.... Hmmm... thought he was infinite? Man... I could go on and on and on. I used to believe that the god of the OT was indeed the Father, etc... because of my fear and beliefs in such. Not any more. It's SO obvious... Jehovah has ALL the worst characteristics of the human race. If indeed Jehovah was a real entity, then it is one that is masquerading as the Great Creator... perhaps an entity, or an Egregore or a Tulpa or a Thought form of some sort. Why, oh why, would anyone believe such a being is the great creator of ALL... The ALL in ALL? Jehovah is the exact opposite of what "God" is. God is infinite. We are finite. A finite mind cannot have full knowledge of the infinite...meaning... there is no way to fully know, in this body, the WHOLE of 'god' as we can only see 1 point of perspective... our own. I jokingly call myself a 'sorcerer' ... As in From Source Energy. Nature is indeed like the finger prints of the great Creator... attributes of nature let us see the attributes of god. Nature has no ego, it just lives and thrives in the right environment, as we would do if we have the right mental/spiritual environment... The law of attraction works for everyone. We all work magic, with out minds... regardless. |

Books. Get modern up to date books. The old standbys like Raymond Buckland, Scott Cunningham, Silver Ravenwolf and Starhawk are still good, but they are old and becoming obsolete, and they all have erroneous history. Very few people even recommend these books anymore. With the internet, now you have access to literally thousands of resources including videos, podcasts, communities. So collect your books and resources, but have modern ones as well. Now I'm going to go drown myself in coffee and donuts. Because to hell with you, waistline. Let's say you were presented with a chart, but as you've stated would be predisposed more toward instruction of how the bearer could interpret potential rather than providing your own interpretation. Let's say further that the bearer of the nativity was fully aware of the symbolism as it pertains to the wounding side of the coin. Where would you begin with the instruction of how to use it for healing, both of the self and for others? |

Let's say further that the bearer of the nativity was fully aware of the symbolism as it pertains to the wounding side of the coin. Where would you begin with the instruction of how to use it for healing, both of the self and for others? As you know, the process begins with the occurring wound, then moves into the realization stage, then the expression of negative emotion and the alignment of yourself with those feelings, in the Craft we call that shadow work. Accepting the dark part of who we are, accepting the pain and dark feelings and bringing it them into balance. You heal by non resisting, and then you get the feelings of gratitude for letting go. I'm probably not explaining it very well. But I'd start by meditation and focusing entirely on the self and hitting the wound as hard as you can to bring it into focus. Don't hide from it. Then accept it. Then let it go. Then use the feeling of relief as a bouncing off point to channel those new feelings to someone else. “Secure the shadow, ere the substance fades.” |

When you begin a process of spiritual healing and transformation, and learning who and what you really are, it's like holding up a mirror to your true self. The self you always deny exists, the dark part of you that you wished you could keep buried. And for most people, that reflection can be a very dark, very ugly picture. Most people can't handle what they see. But energy work requires you to face this head on and you will battle your personal demons as they come to the surface. “Secure the shadow, ere the substance fades.” |

Sort of like how Jung literally drove himself mad in order to have a personal acquaintance with the madness, except with personal wounds as a microcosm effort of the like. There will be some song out there that really resonates with you regarding the pain. Get nice and calm, preferable to be 100% sober, pump that song and focus in on the emotion. Let it rise from the rivers of emotion swirling around up to the surface and embrace it. When the song ends, sit, let it subside, flow away from your mind again. It can be hard, you can easily be caught in strong emotion, so perhaps not even full songs at first. If you find that to be the case, time for a new song that will help to counter it. It's an interesting thing having control over emotions without the bottling up part. It really is a terrible thing to bottle up, just like in The Magicians TV series when they do it, when the bottle breaks it's insaneo mode. Do you ever choose to test your control at all? I think it's equally important, to know that you can handle being on the brink and then simply let it subside again. I've perhaps been a little insane with my approach, effective though. I figure there is enough out there to test my control without my help lol But You're right. Mastering one's emotions is vital for any kind of energy work. Without the control, you won't be very effective at being able to raise energy, contain it or release it. It helps you to stay on the brink without going over That is why grounding, centering and mental shielding is so critical. It centers you, brings your emotions back into line and safely shields energy that would otherwise cause chaos. I've been on GLP for awhile now but I've rarely posted. Quoting: Green Witch I'm starting a Witch/Pagan/Wiccan thread so those of us who practice the Craft can have a place to hang out and discuss topics relevant to us. I feel like this place needs a counterbalance to the Christian posts which now seem to dominate. This isn't a pagan exclusive thread. We welcome all who wish to participate, With respect, I ask that there be no personal attacks, no trying to convert us to your faith, and no preaching about condemning us to eternal hellfire. GLP has many neopagans, wiccans, witches and other non Christian folk who I feel have been sidelined. I'd like to have a place where we can talk, discuss and have fun without all the hate and bitterness. To all the Christians. You are most welcome here but I would ask you to be tolerant of other's faiths and beliefs as you would have us be of yours. I want this to be an open, friendly place with no bashing of faiths. That goes for bashing the Christian faith as well. Now with that out of the way, witches, lets ride! Good Morning Aven, I have been on this site for over 5 years. Thank you. I have been called every name in the book, most of which should not be repeated in public at any given time. However, I do have to admit, I have found a group that accepts me for me.. and actually values my ideas and opinions. But having a Thread for those in the Craft, is nice for a change. working with Positive Thoughts will result in Positive Outcomes. |
