"A wise man listens to the message and uses his logic and discernment to process it, a fool negates the message by prejudging the messenger." "He whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere." |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80503417 I don’t see it that way, perhaps some will. Of course it’s gonna be all fucked up and twisted by Disney, but I’m that religion so I like all that stuff. As someone who is obsessed with Lowkey’s 3 children (in reality world not superhero movie world) I really like any acknowledgment of Loki. Quoting: Lover_Girl Jormungundr Sleipnir Fenris The funniest story is how Loki became a female horse to tempt a stallion away from his work, and ended up getting screwed by said stallion and giving birth to an 8 legged foal! I never learnt of that tale, is this a historically true one? There's supposed to be other Hero and villain cameos upcoming, with plots setting up Dr. Strange (maybe Antman) and the next super villain Kang the Conqueror. Since they're playing off the multiple dimensions AND timelines, they can do anything... And it's seems really hard to screw it up... It is Disney tho... |

No it’s a religious one, like the mythology of Norse paganism You know how Greeks and romans had all those cool myths and stories? There are a bunch of old Viking ones too. Here is a little clip from a place telling the story: [link to heimdallsworkshop.com (secure)] “ The birth story of the extraordinary Sleipnir is one that is extremely unique and very interesting. The father of Sleipnir was a stallion named Svaolifari and the mare who bore Sleipnir was no other than Loki himself in the form of a mare! Many are astonished when they first come across this knowledge and question it. But in fact, according to some of our earliest sources on Nordic mythology, the Prose Edda explains the story for our clarification. Legend has it, the Gods of Asgard were approached by an unnamed hrimthurs who offered to build walls around Asgard as a protection from giants and other dangers. He asked for three seasons to build it but asked for a price that seemed a little too much even for these Gods. He demanded that the goddess Freya become his bride in addition to receiving ownership of the Sun and the Moon.” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80504084 Serbia 06/19/2021 02:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really like how Loki keeps pressing on that whole idea of people blindly following some (possibly completely imaginary, story-wise) "three space lizards", and I keep expecting him to deliver a punchline of: "You might as well say that you're doing God's work.", followed by Mobius replying something to the effect of: "God's not real. Time Keepers are... though I've never met them myself." So far, the show's a thinly veiled (and very smart) critique of organized religion, especially considering the "Sacred Timeline" right-in-your-face reference. It's going to be interesting to see where it goes from there, because TVA is obviously backed by some genuine power behind it, the only question is what exactly that power is. Three space lizards have, apparently, never been seen by any employees (including Mobius, for whom "TVA is my whole life", and I think that's to be taken literally, because "we, at TVA, were all created by Time Keepers") other than those at the very top who only claim to have actually met them, but can't back that claim by any real evidence. The whole TVA setup is as sinister as can be... just like real life on planet Earth (where the "rich" and the "powerful" are obviously backed by some genuine, and just as sinister power), and that's what makes the show's premise so interesting. |

Good observation. I too was seeing the parallel between the TVA and the current and past beliefs in religion on which the faithful are followers on faith without meeting the actual supreme beings of their faith. Dr Strange movie I quite liked, hope he makes an appearance, and he has some scintillating dialogue beyond his visual powers to disclose.
