Missing 5 year old girl in Hawkins County TN parents story sounds a bit suspicious

It is 75 miles East of Knoxville, very close to the Bristol/Kingsport area.

Definitely suspicious!! The pictures of the little girl are sad. She looks neglected. Why did they chop her hair off and make her look like a boy? That's a form of abuse in and of itself. How come the parents aren't on TV pleading for her return? Probably cuz they killed her. If they did this they are sick EVIL people and need to locked away or executed.

The parents seem to be hiding, the police will not allow anyone from the news any where near the home.

Something tells me that this will end with parents in jail.

The little girl is still missing, her mom and grandmother who were watching her have not said anything, no asking for her to come home or anything.

Her dad who was at work when it happened has been the one talking to reporters and repeating what he was told.

The story has changed a couple times.

1st pictures they gave showed her with mid to shorter hair, and over a day later they said she had her head shaved recently and had very short hair.

Her mom posted a video of her swimming in the lake alone on some social media page the day she disappeared supposedly it was posted live. Then they say they were at granny's house planting flowers around 330pm and the girl wanted to go home which was next door and left by herself and that was the last her mom and granny saw her.

Now get this, the little girls aunt (mom's sister) walked out the door of her home 12 years ago and was never saw again.

What part makes her look neglected? Children request hair styles for various reasons… my niece just requested a very short haircut because she was thinking about being a boy… she was allowed. She is seven. Maybe the parents don’t care as much about her appearance then helping her understand this crazy world right now.

Still no leads in what happened to her but signs are pointing to her mom and grandmother being looked at very closely.

Mom has threatened to kill more than one and dispose of their body and then join the search looking for them,

She also has a long criminal record with a few domestic abuse charges.
One more odd thing about her mom, in the police records where sex is listed her sex is reported as Undetermined

I'm bumping this just because it all sounds so weird.

The little girl may have decided to give herself a haircut, and the only salvation of what was left was to cut it all off. It happens all the time. My son decided to cut his own hair when he was about 6, it looked great, as long as your head was tilted far enough to one side.

Looks like the kind of girl's haircut they would be forced to get as some kind of punishment. I agree OP, something is up, and sadly it's not good. Really fucked up, but I will wait for confirmation to recommend a method of you know what for the parents.
