Of course, the projection of power has an annual cost. Vladimir Putin has made it so that this cost has become so astronomical that the American Exceptionalism can no longer be supported. Too many trillions of dollars needed to maintain the current levels of the projection of power and the need is growing. In order not to destabilize the US dollar, these loans have to be sold to foreigners. However, there just aren't enough people out there with trillions of dollars to buy American treasuries.
