I have a similar handheld Fluke voltalert detector, I plan to try and duplicate this experiment.

I think you'll need something specific for magnetic low frequency, not sure the power detectors will work, but worth a try.

I just ordered two of the same electromagnetic "pen" detectors, as shown in this video, about $12 each on Amazon and ebay.
