"Why did you have to go and make things so complicated?" -Avirl Keep It Simple, Stupid. The answer is easy once you know the question... But first, the correct question is very difficult to discover. ...For the answer is singular, but questions themselves are multitude. ______.gg/WGx2TWU |

Well, maybe Erie, PA, but the town is kind of, well, not nice. East of it is a nice winery area though. A few hours from Toledo is New Buffalo, Mi, and Warren Dunes State Park on Lake Michigan. One of the best beaches in the country, IMO. Two hours north of Toledo is Lakeport State Park on the shore of Lake Huron. The lake is gorgeous. Personally, I'd drive far out of my way to either of these rather than Lake Erie. We're king of the beasts but we're hardly civilized. |

Presque Isle in Erie, PA Sandusky, Ohio Put-in-Bay island Geneva On The Lake The last two are going to be a bit more of a crazy party atmosphere. If you want a little quieter, but on the islands, I suggest Kelley's. Also Huron and Catawba (Ohio) have some nice public beaches. You may be able to Air B'n'B a place in either town though that has access to a private beach. These are really nice. PharaohChromium |

I can confirm Put-in-Bay is a huge party place on the weekends and now that it is summer, it'll pick up more during the week, too. Nice place to visit for a day, though. Huron and Catawba are nice. Sandusky doesn't really have a beach, it's at Cedar Point. Part of the beach is free/open to public. They do have a water park on the lake. Extra admission. Maumee Bay State Park is closer to Toledo. I've not been there, but my folks used to love it. Everyone I know that's been there had good things to say about it. I'm in the area now. Let me know if I can help. I'm prejudiced, though. Grew up here. I LOVE my lake! |

Miles of sandy beaches and dunes. but is the border opened between Michigan and Ontario? We're not even allowed recreational travel from region to region in British Columbia and the restrictions are worse in Ontario. OP is asking about the American side. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66900864 Be careful though. We have a saying here in Ohio. "Ohio, come on vacation, leave to probation." Cader Point in Sandusky is fun. Expensive, but fun. Dude thats weird. You can catch the ferry to the Islands. But...the beach is kind of eroded from the winter and latest storms. Jolly Rogers is our favorite place for perch and walleye, though. User ID: 22937658 United States 06/09/2021 03:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Honestly Headlands Beach is a lesser known and more magical type beach place. White soft sand. It feels much like the ocean. The waves are nice especially if you have a small board you can hang onto and ride them. The water is pretty shallow so excellent for swimming. Life guards during the day but you can stay and hang out into the evening. They have a beach festival every year with a sand castle competition. There is a light house which you can walk/hike to on a natural trail. By the lighthouse are some huge private sunbathing/swimming areas with big rocks to lie on. They are probably concrete slabs but it’s still nice and private. I still go there sometimes just to be alone. Quoting: Babel Starry Night That sounds wonderful! Where is that? |
